I have looked on line and found nothing but does anyone
know if the massive headache I now have is a result of
that injection this afternoon. Tried to take a nap and
while I was at it someone pounded a stake into the
right side of my head.

Duckie, I've had injections in my hips, shoulder and neck, and have never
had a headache from it. Hope the pounding stops quickly. Had two
injections in my neck today by my RD.

HI Caroline
I get headaches as well as the heart pounding from shots of cortisone. If
it doesn't subside soon, you call and tell that doc about it. please?
it scares ya though

I had two injections in my shoulders last week and did not encounter a
headache...a quick call to your doc's office may be beneficial.

Duckie, I have had two of those injections and never
had the problem you described.

Pounding is lessening -- I had chicken soup and a
sandwich and three glasses of water for dinner.
Thinking now I might have just been dehydrated. fits
into the duh category.

Yep - if I get dehydrated, not even tramadol will touch the pain in the
head! Feel better, sweetie!

I haven't had a headache from an injection, but years ago when I had my
first shoulder injection my rheumy told me it was a possible side effect.

Hi Duckie,,, No, I never had a reaction like that to a steroid shot and I am
glad. I hope it is all better now and if not call your RD.

Headache all gone this morning but knee still hurts
although not nearly as badly. I was hoping that when I
opened my eyes, the knee would not announce its
presence. No such luck. ;)
I think that headache was somehow related to not
getting enough fluid yesterday and having to drive so
far [right knee involved] to get that painful shot and
then drive back in the beginning of rush hour. Of
course forgetting my glasses and having to walk the
city block to and from my car twice before I saw him
and then once after I saw him didn't help. I hate going
to Lahey North.

Three days -- well, I still have one more day to hope.
It is still throbbing but it is to a lesser degree. I
did nearly fall again this morning in the bathroom. I
personally think my time has come. The thing just lets
go in unexpected ways. If I didn't have great balance
from my dancing, I wouldn't be able to catch myself and
keep from falling.

Bet when you have it you will say it should have been done sooner because it
will be so much better after the recovery. Wishing you the best whatever
you do.

that sense of falling is scary. (((((duckie))))) yes, i agree, your
dancing has helped you in very many ways. i learned something about
falling and balance when alex was about eight and attended karate classes.
he came home from karate class one day and taught me what he learned. his
karate teacher (i forget what they called him, "san" something or something
"san") taught him that "where your head leans the body follows" and he
proceeded to demonstrate it for me, on me.LOL that little bit of
information has saved me from many a fall, since.

Yep -- that is the exact answer. I get myself in
trouble when I am leaning over with head as far away
from my body and then the knee buckles. I have also
discovered that if I remember to slightly bend my knees
before bending -- I have less a chance of the knee
buckling. lovely -- not something one really wants to know.

I didn't know you could detach your head from the body.
Is that some dance routine? <VBG>
