I had the Synvisc shots today...That was a very painful thing. I go back the
next two weeks for the rest of my shots...
Tonight they are sort of swollen and tender...How long does this last, and
how long before they begin to feel better?

Hi Cindy, my 90 year old grandmother had her first injections two weeks ago
and was fine when I saw her on Monday...well, she's arthritic, so as fine as
she could be, but not complaining of pain from the injections.

I hope you're feeling better soon. Be sure to let us know if the injections
work for you.

I wonder if they are like steroid shots in the knee.   I have had them that
made my eye run like a river and then I have had them and did not feel it at
all????

Well, all I can say for sure is that she and I have the same rheumy and he
has never hurt me with an injection. He is the only one in his office to do
them and I have had everything from fingers to wrists, to knees done by him.
They never hurt to the point where I want to cry. I'm not real tough,
either.lol  He's just really good.

I was glad to hear that Grammy's injections had gone well...it renews my
faith in this Dr. If he had hurt her, I would have been very upset. Luckily,
Grammy's a tough cookie, anyway.:o)

I felt no pain and had no swelling or tenderness during or following the
series of 3 shots.

The difficulties you describe usually result from inept, poorly-trained
medical personnel.

... Be careful - potatoes have eyes, corn has ears, and beans talk.

I'll have to tell Dr. Willis that is what you said. He has given me steroid
injections before and also drained fluid from them...
He is not delicate...But he has a PA that has given me injections before and
barely felt them....I told him before I started yesterday, that he needed to
get Mr. Flynn to show him how...Then I said, Maybe I shouldn't have said
that before you started. The first one I almost passed out with...The second
one, he could tell that he was really hurting me...He is such a sweet and
caring doctor, but he does need some lessons I think...Of course in the
examing room where I was yesterday, was all his certificates for completing
his residency at the VA hospital...So maybe he learned to be rough in the
beginning...
Actually I love him and am not complaining as he is very knowledgable about
Fibro and that is something I feel lucky about after reading some peoples
accounts of the way they are treated by thier Physcians that don't
believe....

Okay sorry to ramble...My knees are a little less sore today and I am hoping
for some great relief....
Hugs Cindy
