so i finally had to stop the azulfidine and oxaprozin because i started
throwing up and was unable to eat for 5 days (cept some soup, how does chicken
soup ALWAYS go down???). They know that i cant afford the 800 a month that
enbrel would cost outta pocket with my insurance, i wont qualify for assistance
as part of the rules say that they wont assist anyone with insurance. I dont
know what kind of magic my wonderful doc is going to pull, but he said to call
monday. I think hes going to try for the infusions since its a medical
procedure and not the injections but ill find out more monday. He seemed pretty
optomistic that he will be able to get it to me somehow. Anyone ever had it
through infusion? whats the difference? Any experiences of enbrel from all of
you? I know quite a few of you are on it (if my memory serves me correct) and i
see the commercials all the time. Im nervous of course, but feel confident cuz
my doc just RULES

If that is the case, then i am wondering if he is thinking of
remicade, which is administered by IV as oposed to enbrel which is
injection.
Good luck either way. I hope it is a miracle for you.

Doesn't that just suck? I was caught in that last year when our Rx coverage
fell far short of what I needed. This year I solved it by not having Rx
coverage. ;)

My last RD considered trying to get me on Remicade, figuring it'd be covered
as an infusion rather than falling under the Rx coverage, but we were a
couple of months from moving then and it wasn't the time to be starting.
Gotta like the sound of your doc though! It's great to have a doc who will
go to bat for you.

I hadn't noticed this in your sig before Marnie. I just went there. Boy
does it hit home. By the time I reached "It is the beautiful ability to not
think and just do. I miss that freedom." I was crying. I miss it too.
I just emailed the link to my family.

Marnie,
Sorry to hear about your other meds making you throw up and not being able
to eat. I hope you can soon eat.
I hope you are able to get on the enbrel because the dr gets it thru to the
insurance and they ok it.
You are in my thoughts.

Hi Marnie, Enbrel went to work sooo fast for me that I sound like a
commercial when I talk about it. I knew that Enbrel was going to work for
me,,,,, the next day after my first shot.

If he is going for an infusion med, he is probably looking at Remicade. It
would be covered under your major medical.
As far as I know, Enbrel is NEVER given IV.
