Glucosamine products and allergic reactions

Hi,

I have been using glucosamine products for several years and they
definitely eliminate my arthritis symptoms effectively.

However, after about a year of taking Osteo-Biflex, I began to develop
asthma-like bronchial spasms and heart pounding that were traced back
to something in the Osteo Biflex.  I stopped taking it and the asthma
type reactions immediately stopped, but the arthritis symptoms quickly
returned.

So.... I switched to a compound called MSM/Glucosamine which worked
extremely well for another 2 years.  Once again though, I seem to have
developed a sensitivity to something in this product, in the form of
skin eruptions (kinda like being a teenager again, with surprise
pimples here and there).  The severity of the skin eruptions went from
being slightly annoying to painful and extremely unpleasant, so... I
stopped taking this version of Glucosamine and the skin problems
immediately cleared up.  Once again the arthritis symptoms returned
within a week of stopping.

I am now in search of some other form of Glucosamine that I can
tolerate without major reactions.  Does anyone have any suggestions?
As far as I know I am not allergic to shellfish (I love lobster, crab,
shrimp and most seafood) so I am uncertain what these past two
instances have been a reaction to.   Could be something in the binder
they mix it all up with, or in the past case, it might be the sulpha
compound in the MSM.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ender

Try the avosoy plus that dr. Theo recommends on his site.  i am loving the
antiinflammatory properties of the ASU and the glucosamine is a vegetarian
glucosamine which seems to be better tolertated by some people than the
shellfish source of glucosamine.

Here is a remedy that may give you relief with in 48 hours with zero (0)
side effects. There are those that will scoff at it, but it works for me.
Apple Pectin  I've been taking it for 5 tears with terriffic results.  You
can find it in most health food store.  Take 3 or 4 500mg tablets twice a
day for the first two days then you can drop back to a couple a day.  You
can not over dose and it will not depress you or elevate you.  You can take
it with any other meds you might be taking.

Good Luck
