The heart cath Wednesday only found  a couple of small blockages, nothing
bad enough for angioplasty. Would have come home Thur AM but had an
abnormal reading in last blood work so had to stay and have a lung scan on
Thursday but no blood clots were found.  An abnormal reading on kidneys but
2 days of Mucomyst twice a day was supposed to take care of that.  Had
shots of Lovenox (sp) twice a day in my stomach and Imdur raised from 30
mg. to 60 mg. Came home yesterday afternoon. I will have more blood work on
Tuesday and see cardiologist again on the 20th.  His nurse told me
yesterday that after that he wants me to see a pulmonary specialist.  I had
no PT this week but will start back on Monday.  Am using pillow sling at
night and regular sling during day for two weeks and then no sling!  My PT
is still passive but imagine in two weeks I'll have to start doing the
work.
Have read some of NG and was interested in reactions to doctors.  The first
cardiologist I saw when I first came to Montgomery said he was going to put
me on a beta blocker.  I asked which one and he answered what difference
did it make if it worked.  I did not go back to him.  The one who did my
angioplasty in 2001 had been okay but while my PCP and I were working so
hard to control my high BP I went to see him, taking a copy of my BP
readings for about a month, BP going way up and then down, then back up.
That day it was back down when the nurse took it.  He didn't even look at
what I took in, just glanced at it and said it was okay today; come back in
a year.  My son and DIL like his cardiologist so much that I changed to him
and he is the one who heard the crackle in my lungs, particularly the left
one, on Friday.  The PCP had not noticed it on Wednesday.  After Dr, Chan
spent the afternoon with me Friday, the first time he had seen me,  and was
so thorough in checking out everything, I'm very glad I changed to him.
I'm still on Biaxin for the infection which he said could be walking
pneumonia. When you lose confidence in a doctor, it's time to change.
Will catch up on the NG as I have time.

{{{{{Gwen}}}}}  Glad you're home, hon.

I wish I could change doctors when I get a rotter, but the military doesn't
give you much choice.  I pitched a fit once when they tried to change me to
a different doctor than the one who had been following me for two years.
That worked, but you can't get away with it more than once.
