A friend of my nephew, who is 12, has just been diagnosed with JRA.  My nephew
is asking my sister-in-law a lot of questions.  I was wondering if there was a
website out there that helps educate children about JRA.  My nephew gets scared
easily by these things, so I need something pretty basic and not very intense.

I feel so for this young boy's family.  I know what I have been through these
last 10-11 years with RA, I cannot even begin to imagine what it is like for an
11 or 12 year old.
Any assistance with this will be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

The Arthritis Foiundation has info on it, a good page to start with is
http://www.arthritis.org/conditions/DiseaseCenter/jra.asp  You might awnt to
look at it yourself to see if you think it's too intense for your nephew.

And of course our friends Kimmy and KJ have the JRA World part of Arthritis
Insight.   http://jraworld.arthritisinsight.com/  Lots of stuff there.  It
might even be good for the friend as a place to talk to others with JRA.
Check it out.

Thank you both.  I think that this will be above my nephew's head, but I am
sending the links to my sister-in-law.  I visit both of these sites often, my
favorite is the Arthritis Insight webpage.  I'm still hoping that there is a
"child oriented" webpage out there.
Thank you again!

Just an update.  They don't think that it is JRA now.  He has a tumor on his
leg.  They did MRIs today, and will do a tissue biopsy tomorrow.  All the poor
guy wants to do is sleep.  He's in the hospital now.  I pray that they get this
figured out soon.
