At the last minute, I volunteered to participate in a contingent in
our local Independence Day Parade. When I got home, I threw together
this story about it:

It's got one of the few pics of me riding the scooter, because I'm
usually on the thing, but taking the pictures myself!

Neat-o! I'm glad they let you all march so you could show all sorts of
Americans celebrating. That's neat about the Sikh community too. Alachua
County back home has a large Hare Krishna community. They used to be the
accost you on the street sort, but they've calmed down and are now part of
the mainstream. The vegetarian lunch they serve on campus on weekdays for a
nominal fee is popular with the entire city. And the health department loves
checking out their exceptionally clean kitchen! They used to own and operate
a daylily farm/major wholesale supplier but they sold it. Shame too, their
daylily festival was the best with daylily fritters that were yummy. I miss
all the diversity down there.
Next time - wear a wide-brimmed hat to protect you from that sun!

LOLOL, I can tell you how to do that but you would not go for it. :-)
Smile, enjoy the things you believe in but make sure to pay the price.
