So imagine my surprise this morning as I punched in "enbrel" on dogpile and
found an ASA discussion originated by me humira to enbrel to chance. There we
were, a whole ASA discussion in the search engine.  Does anyone have a clue
why?  All ASA discussions do not end up on Dogpile.  I will be hesitant to post
anything on ASA in the future-this is so much more in your face than someone
googling enbrel and having to wade through all of our discussions.

So why did that happen and under what circustances?

I just went to dogpile and punched in Enbrel, and found no such thing.   I did
find a link to AI but that was as close as it got.

Very strange!!

Dogpile feeds your search to multiple search engines.  The info they found for
you may have come from Google, Yahoo, Ask Jeeves, About, LookSmart, Teoma,
Overture or FindWhat. Google isn't the only place that archives information from
the internet. I get 3-4 hits a day on my web site from Ask Jeeves from people
looking for pictures of the Mississippi river or Berman cats.

Dogpile probably just returned the results they got from google groups, so it
isn't much different than searching there.

I wouldn't worry about it, just never post what you don't want preserved for all
time. ;)

Odd I couldn't make it come up in dog pile.  Web md was the first
entry and I did not see  the link you posted anywhere on the page.  Oh
well mysteries of the web.

One of those things that make you go hmmmmmm.  No matter how many times I try,
I cant get it to bring up anything even remotely like that.  Weird, huh?

There are web sites that mirror newsgroups. Google is the best known
(and only known to most people). However, there are other web sites
that mirror what is written here. Since it is on a web site, it is
typically written in html resulting in search engines being able to
locate them and archive what is written there.

Here is an example of one web site that mirrors everything posted in
alt.support.arthritis.

Lots of dscusson groups  -- some that even charge memberships --
bascally use usenet via a bulletin board interface, and search
engines' robots find them as they crawl through looking for relevant
information.

Usenet is *not* private. At the very least, it's archived on
groups.google.com, so anything you say here is utterly public and
might be stored for years.
