My wife has had knee problems off and on for years,  This past year, the
pain got  constant,  She had to use a cane to get around, and was, on
GOOD days, slow and hutched over.  Nothing seemed to help.

A few weeks ago her doctor suggested Voltarem, an NSAID they I had never
heard of -she was to take 500 mg every 8 hours..

We order all our meds from Italy, otherwise we would have had to stop
taking ANY drugs by now.  So, I sent the scrip off to the Italian
Farmacia.  Friday it arrived in the mail, and Friday night she took one.

Saturday morning, she was feeling better and walking better.  She took
her second dose Saturday morning, and within an hour and a half was
walking normally with no trace of paint

Today is a gorgeous day, and we went walking in the park, something we
haven't been able to do for about 5 years .

I haven't the slightest idea as to why this acted so well for her where
other NSAID s had had little or no effect.

The ONLY thing which had ever had a noticeable effect on her in the past
is the Arthritis Foundation Water Aerobics program.  Without that, she
locked up so badly that she had trouble getting out of bed

Hi Ted, I've taken Voltaren XR for several years now, but at a much lower
dosage. I take 100 mgs. once a day and have a scrip. for 50 mg tablets that
I can use for break-through pain. I have found it to be the only NSAID that
really works for me. I've tried several others, with only limited success.

500 mg. sounds like a lot and I hope your wife is getting regular blood and
UA's done to make sure there is no damage taking place. She should also be
sure not to take any OTC anti-inflams like ibuprofen while on Voltaren.

Ted
I have taken Voltaren for years and my doc has tried me on every new
nsaid that comes such al vioxx and celebrex ect. I always go back on
voltaren but not near as much as your wife takes. I think I need a
higher dosage but mine(75mg 2x a day.)  does help. I am glad to hear
she is getting some relief. Has she been diagonised with OA? This is
what I am dealing with in about all my joints.
BTW can you email me the pharmacy you order from?
thanks jsbolick@charter.net

Correction
She is taking 50 x 3, not 500 x 3

I'll send you pharmacy info directly

I take Voltaren also (75 mg usually 3X a day) and it works far better for me
than anything else I've tried.  Because of genetic differences between
individuals, certain drugs can work dramatically for some people and not for
others.  I'm so happy for your wife, that she's found something that makes a
difference for her!
