Somebody out there has been sneaking in a few extra prayers for all ASA
members.  You know who you are.

I just survived another really bad fall.  I was spraying weeds in the roses
and tripped stepping back onto the driveway and sprawled straight out across
the concrete.  Now while I don't care to say what I weigh, I'm a big girl.
All I have to show for the fall is slightly scuffed palms and a scuffed
knee.

I could not even get into a good position to get up.  Can't crawl due to
knees and not enough strength in my wrists to push myself up.  Fortunately
my youngest grandson was inside and he heard me and came when I yelled for
him.  He brought me a lawn chair and between that and the jug of roundup I
was using, I managed to get up.

So thank you to my angels.  Both the one from heaven and the ones here on
earth.  Don't know what I would do without you.

Thanks also to those who while not believing in a particular deity, still
believe in the power of the universe and the power of people who care.  That
caring matters.

Jo:  I am so glad you are not hurt.  This is really amazing.  I have
been away from here for quite some time due to problems with my eyes and
not being able to read the screen as well as a few other medical
things.. This morning I had the third laser surgery and this afternoon I
came here to see if it worked.

The first thing I saw was your post and I can read it (almost clearly).
Between the two of us we are proof positive of the power of prayer.  I
remember all here in a special daily prayer and I'm sure others are
doing the same.  For those who don't post but still send prayers and
good thoughts, all I can say is please keep it up.

Ann, if people are praying for others in the group, then I'm in the right
place :-)  Nanny

Oh Jo -- how scary for you. Glad your grandson was home. Maybe time you
were always carrying a cell phone or something so you could get help
when no family was in ear shout.

ahhh, gee, I'm so glad that some of those prayers floating around out there
cushioned your fall.  It's good to come out of a fall like that with nothing
more wrong than scuffed palms, a scuffed knee and scuffed dignity.  You even
found a new use for Roundup.

The caring of and from this group is such a wonderful thing.

Oh Jo
Thank God you are OK.  I have a horror of falling and no one to help me up too.
Your angel was with you and I am so thankful.
Be careful and take care

whoaaaa, nellie!  (((((((((((((((jo)))))))))))))))  thank goodness you
weren't hurt!  i'm so glad somebody was home for you.  that sounds scary and
could have been horrible.

now, before we go any further---NOBODY else is allowed to make any clutzy
gladys goodfairy moves.  no more trying to fly or falls or slips or slides
or trips or misses or vicious wheelchairs or dogbites; no more bruising or
blood letting, punctures, jarring, jolting, bumping or grinding (well,
except in the artistic sense and for a very select, limited and preferred
audience on that last part).

ok . . . everybody repeat after me-- i solemnly swear, that i will wear my
head to foot, air cooled, bubblewrap suit with asa pride and honor and will
keep it in good repair.  i will replace any bubble that gets popped and keep
it and myself away from any predatory bubblewrap-popping fiends, while
wearing it.  and when my bubblewrap suit is out for cleaning and/or repairs,
i promise i will wear my styrofoam suit, (with the built-in margarita
cooler) and will use duct tape to resecure any piece that might break off
it.  i solemnly swear and promise to do these things so that asa doesn't
have to worry about me.  agreed?

Jo that is scary!  You might think about one of those life line
gadgets if Charlie was away and no one was there you might need help
better than lying on the floor somewhere. -- MZ

I think maybe I should look into it.  Even if he were home and I fell
outside, they always call before they send in the Marines, and that would
let him know.  He didn't hear me yesterday.  Its not easy to keep a cell
phone on your person if you don't have a belt or pockets or a purse on you.
Maybe I need to look into a smaller phone that can be worn around the neck.

It comes as a shock to me when I've fallen that I really can't get up.  A
truly horrible feeling.  I used to be able to easily stand up without even
touching my hands to the ground.

I used to be able to rise from a sitting position on the floor sitting
cross legged with my baby in my arms and bounce up without touching the
floor. She just turned 28 and that means that it was about 27 years ago.
Time flies when you are having fun....

Yikes, Jo!   Really glad to hear you weren't hurt more than you were!!!
I imagine you were pretty sore the next day though.   Praying that you
have no more falls and that you can enjoy the outdoors and your garden
without any mishaps.   Please be careful and take good care of
yourself!!!

Hugs!

Scarey stuff Jo.  Please be more careful.  And a cell phone you can wear around
your neck or one of those panic button services, sound like a must have.  Dont
want you getting hurt and delaying your chochlear implant.  I can hardly wait
until you get that.  It is going to be SOOOOO wonderful for you.

That sure is scary Jo about not being able to get up.

But I sure am glad you survived another fall.I am glad you didn't break
something or other. I am glad it was not worse than it was for you.

Yes prayers do work in mysterious ways don't they.

Those prayers were asking that you NOT fall forward into the roses.  <g>

... A rose by any other name:   deadly, thorn-bearing assult vegetation.
