Tonight when I was doing my mouth rinses the packing in the socket came out.
Now there is just a webbing of stitches at the top and a cavity with
something whitish in it. I'm thinking it's the bone graft material he put in
there but is it going to all come out now? Each morning when I wake up I
have grit in my mouth as it is. Shoot -- for the extra $$$ I had to pay for
the bone graft I'd hate for it all to just swish out. Any ideas? Why does
this have to happen at 1 in the morning???

I assume you are calling the office today? Do so. Whoever is on call needs
to come in an repack it for you. I hope you didn't lose too much of the
stuff overnight. You need to have the packing back in there to help keep the
pain levels down, regardless of whether you are actually losing bone graft
material. I got one of those dry sockets with my wisdom teeth but we didn't
realize it because it happened almost immediately, before I was really
coherent. If I'd known what was going on I could have saved myself a
tortured weekend!
