Hi Everyone!

Just thought I'd post this bit of information so you are aware of what
is going on for us webtv users.

Webtv has run into some a major glitch and as of yet has been unable to
find the problem(s) that is causing it.   Every so often, for no
unexplained reason, their system is just wiping out posts on many news
groups and other discussion groups. This problem is very random and no
one knows which groups will be affected each time it happens.   Some
webtv users aren't even aware of this unless they participate in a group
where this has shown up.  This group seems to have been hit everytime.
Well, since tuesday, the posts in this group have gone from about 1200
down to 201 yesterday.   The posts are just gone with no hopes of
recovery, so what us webtv users are seeing are some responses to some
posts but not the original post as well as most posts that are from 4-13
through today.  Anything pretty much posted before the 13th has been
wiped completely unless it has responses to it from the 14th and such.
So, please don't think that us webtv users are ignoring anyone or
something of that nature, its just that some of us don't have or know
about the posts that may need to be responded to.   I continue to hope
that the powers that be that run webtv will figure out soon what the
problem is and where the glitch is so it can be corrected!   In the
meantime, I sit here and go grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Anyways, just thought I'd post this as kind of a public service
announcement for the other webtv users as well as all of you to help you
understand our predicament!

Donna G..I was wondering the same thing, I belong to a couple of
diabetic ng's and sometimes there are 1500 posts and then it goes down
to 200.  A real shame as they don't give you any credit on the bill,
when their service isn't what it should be!  Thanks for the info....Mic

Mic, have you ever asked them for credit because of bad service  The
squeaky wheel gets the oil.

Yup, I called them, and told them the problem....their response was:
"Sorry for the inconvience, and hung up!"  I haven't been feeling the
best, dealing with all that is on my plate, so haven't gotten the old
Irish attitude yet (maiden name:  McGuire)

When Attbi who was Comcast predecessor was called about the missing
posts, I was told that it was because the group wasn't talking that day.
right.
I asked the idiot if he could look at Google Groups and just see how
much no talking the group was actually doing. Seems they couldn't get on
line. That was when I moved to the German Newsreader.
But don't know if the webtv people could use them.

Nope, we can't use the german server because we can't ?configure it
right.

And, no, they webtv/msntv very rarely gives you any credit or money back
for all the difficulties they have.  They always just apologize for the
inconvenience and then end the conversation.   They make it extremely
difficult to track down anyone but the customer service number and
absolutely will refuse to give you a corporate address or phone number
to talk to someone there.   If by some small chance you can get a hold
of any of that information, you can then call the corporate office and
if you whine and complain long enough and loud enough, you might then
get a credit.   I did manage at one point about a year or two ago to get
someone in the corporate office and I went on and on about all the
problems, finally I think the guy had had enough of listening to me and
he did give me a 3 month credit for all the lost time on my webtv.
VERY hard to do though!

Webtv is really, really having a hard time right now and can't figure
out what the problem is at all.   Maybe we should have some of you
computer geeks or computer savy people go figure it out for them!!!
LOL!   It DOES get frustrating to constantly see all of the posts just
disappear into thin air never to be found or retreived again!!!
