My last infusion at the hospital

I had my last infusion at the local hospital from now on it will be at
my RD's office.  I was a little sad about this because I really like
the nurses and the care, it was the idiotic billing that drove me
away.  I explained it to the nurses and they said other patients had
complained as well and the hospital instituted some changes to resolve
the billing issues. Apparently some patients were not billed and the
hospital had to eat the non payments. I told them to pass on my
comments as they wished and they asked me to send a comment card. The
nurses gave me a hug before I left.  I will send out the comment card
I told the nurses I never received an answer to my letter.   I don't
know how a business can operate with such a horrible billing process.

It's a shame that it had to come to this, but it's good you had a chance to
let the nurses know it had nothing to do with them.  It's got to be really
frustrating for them to be trying so hard to treat patients right and then be
screwed over by billing.

Both my husband and I have charges at the Corvallis Clinic from Aug
2003 and Sept 2003 plus assorted ones from 2004.  We haven't seen a
bill since July 2003.  I'm not paying until they bill me.  At least my
insurance company considers the 2004 charges part of our deductible
even if we don't pay them.  They complain about having to treat
non-payers but then don't get off their duff and bill.

Hope the infusions at your RD's office go really well.

Mary,

I am sorry you had to change locations for the infusions. But I hope it all
works out in the end for you.
