I am really liking it in Springfield, we are house hunting. We are
waiting to hear about an offer we put in. Compared to CA, prices for
housing are great. Retirement will be comfortable here.
Still in remission from RA. I am thankful but am not sure I should
post here anymore. I also wonder if the RA will come back. I ask
myself why me? Is this unusual, has anyone else on ASA experienced
remission?

WHAT! Of course you should still post here. Stories like yours give us
hope.
I was in remission for a couple of years while I was in school. But I
was still dealing with the damage the RA had done, and it did come back.
I'm glad also that you are liking Springfield. It is very nice. My
parents retired to Fort Scott Kansas, about 100 miles west of
Springfield, for the same reason, low-cost housing. Just remember that
the humidity gets really bad, so make sure you buy something with air
conditioning and a dehumidifier.
Anyway, I am so glad that you are finding relief as you enter
retirement. Thanks for letting us know.

Hi Dawn,,,, Why would you even think that because you are doing well RAwise
that you should not take part in this newsgroup??????? Aaah me,, not going
to say anymore on THAT except that last year I had a 6-8 month period of
time where I donated my Enbrel to my RD to be used as he sees fit for people
without insurance. Sure, sure, it did not last but it was a wonderful
time and now I read that you are going through the same experience. May
yours last longer than mine AND people need to know that it does happen. I
went for lots of years where I thought that it never happened.
Come on, Dawn. Do you think all the people that have enjoyed what you
have had to say over time all of a sudden just do not care about you
anymore???? I have thought about sending LadyAndy an email with just that
question. Sorry, sorry really, I will shut up.

Just because you're in remission doesn't mean you're not welcomed here!! We
need all the good news we can get.

And why exactly would you not post. Without hope that we might reach
remission -- medicated or not -- is not worth thinking about. MaryZ is
in medicated remission and is loving life and still posting. Without her
posts about health insurance woes, I would not have even know the
questions to ask until it was too late when we were forced to change
carriers. And then of course I love her pictures of her travels. So see,
we need you to post too. :)

Housing costs are the reason my youngest is packing up with
the wife and my 2 grandkids at the end of May and heading
for Florida.

I have read several stories of remission. The sorry ones are those
who gave up their meds thinking they were "cured". Then it comes
back with a vengence. Please don't do anything foolish like that.
Keep taking what the RD prescribes. The drugs are what brought
you into remission and they are what will help you remain there for
a long time.
Now get rid of that idea about not posting in ASA in the future. We
want to hear your continuing saga......that good-luck story.

Dawn, so happy about the good things going on in your life now. Hope you
will find exactly what you want in a house and that the remission is
permanent.

I am in medicated remission, but I don't think I will try to eliminate
my meds. I have reduced them. Come back I think it is important that
Newbies know there is hope and treatments work.
Tell us about your house, did they accept the offer?

I am glad you are liking it in Springfield. Hope you can find something
soon. You take care and don't overdo it with the moving in.
I want you here, I would miss you too much if you weren't. Just say hi every
once in a while.
