Oh, Nate, Nate, Nate. His mother just posted on CaringBridge:

Nate, being Nate, no needs his gall bladder out. He has several large gall
stones. Tomorrow, He has barium swallow, upper GI series and a bowel
series. Then, He goes to a pre-op meeting with the surgeon. Just another
bump in the road. His counts are good and He is really enjoying school this
year. We will keep you updated as soon as We know anything.

Please kick up the prayer machine for him again and his family. His bumps

Hope they can do the surgery laproscopically and that he sails through
it without any problems.

Update from Erin - date of surgery
__________________________________________
Nate will be having surgery on Fri. Nov. 13th. He will have to stay at least
one night, possibly more depending on how the surgery goes and how well they
can mange his pain. The surgeon said he would try to do the surgery through
laprascopy and will go through all of his intestines to make sure they got
all the stones. I just wish this kid could catch a break and be healthy. We
will keep everyone updated.

Please keep prayers coming, folks. Seeing what this little boy has gone
through makes me hesitate to complain about my pains. Here's your answer
Donna G - they are going to try to
do it laproscopically. Will keep you informed as I hear from her.

that will be huge if they can to it laproscopically - recovery is infinitely
faster and he will feel so much better with it and the stones gone. Praying
that taking care of this will greatly speed his recovery from all he's been
through.

Just got this from Erin"
______________________________________
We are home from the hospital and Nate is doing well. He has 4 little holes
in his stomach. Once the surgeon was in, they found out that Nate has an
inguianl hernia and a hydorseal that will need to be fixed in the next 3-4
weeks. Thankfully that is an in and out surgery. We were lucky enough to end
up on the 8th floor, our second home. The hospital was full and some people
had to spend the night in the rocovery room. Nate got to see some of his
favorite Nurses - Candie - his girlfriend, and Sarah-who sneaks him dunkin
doughnuts in the mornings. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers, We
really appreciate all of them.

I'm happy to hear the surgery was successful but it's really too bad
that the poor little guy has to go through more.

It's a shame they found more to repair down the line, but thank goodness they
found it rather than nate having to live with it until it becomes critical.
One more step down on the road to him enjoying a good life again.
I hope Erin's job situation works out. I'm sure this will be hard on them
economically but at least she can be home more as Nate goes through these
surgeries. I can't imagine the stress of running a home, caring for a sick
child (or sick children) AND working at the same time!

I understand that she has a couple of possibilities, so will see what
happens. I don't know how she manages three children (had chicken pox at
once) and work and still got Nate his treatments. I guess that's why they
say children are better given to the young!

Trust me, it better if they all get things like chicken pox at the
same time. Then you don't have to try to keep them apart and they
are all home to amuse each other and drive each other crazy.
I look at what my daughter does now, to look after a child and care
for a home and work and I amazed that she has the energy. I
remember doing the same thing, but for the life of me don't remember
how.

When my three boys had the chicken pox, one gave it to the next one and so
on. I would rather all three did have it at the same time. I know what you
mean. Now that I am retired, I keep asking myself, "How did I do all this
and work 8 to 10 hours, too?" LOL

Isn't it the truth. Charlie and I just spent half a day picking up
a couple of RX on base and buying groceries. Once upon a time I'd
have done that myself on the way home from a full days work.
I did get one treat out of it. We are near Beale AFB which is very
large and very rural. Former home for the SR71 and home for the U2
and a few other classified goodies. They lease out a lot of land as
pasture, so its common to see some lovely black Brangus cattle
grazing at the end of the runway. Today as we were driving in there
was a huge cow near the road, licking a newborn calf that hadn't
stood up yet. We passes her again as we were leaving, and she had
three!

Triplets! Wow. What a sight to see. I once saw a fawn that was about 30
minutes old and it's such a thrill to be in on something like that.
