I haven't seen Joan for a bit.   I know she took a fall and thought she was
okay but has anyone noticed a post from her?  I have had to delete several
days of emails lately when I have been away.  Hopefully she is okay.

Rose - hope that going back to school thing worked this week.  I know it
will be a challenge on the one crutch.  Thinking of you.

I'm here, Kelly, reading every day.  The fall was part of an MS
exacerbation, the first in a long time. :-( I was even using my
cane inside for a few days and I took myself off driving, didn't
feel safe. The worst part was severe tremors in my hands, could
not write. I had to have someone write a cheque for me then I
would 'sign' it. That is  better now except when the MS 16
wheeler runs over me. The good part about this is the arthritis
has taken a back seat during this time. There is always a plus
side, right?

Thanks for asking, Kelly.

always a plus side.  Yes that would say it.  I am sorry about the MS - I
know it was calm for a bit.  Let it calm down further and keep that cane
close - I was worried about that fall.  I know how hard it can be when you
are a caregiver.

We need to watch out for those wheelers - shouldn't they come equipped with
horns??

I am going back on Thursday. it is a little scary, even after 30+
years of teaching. In my absence things in the workplace has changed
and the climate and culture has reorganized itself. there are
workplace tensions that I cannot go into, but there is a significant
stressload associated. Two of my best friends and colleagues have
retired, new staff have been hired, and roles have changed. I am not
coming back to the same situation I left.
The person who took my place did an awesome job this time, so there is
nothing to "fix". The kids might have difficulty adjusting to a
different teacher and a different way of doing things.

On top of all that, there were 84 kids away yesterday, which is about
1/3 of our school population. Tomorrow I can get my H1N1 shot, I hope.

I wrote above Rose.  Even with the H1N1 my clinic is saying have the tamiflu
at home ready for us.  They don't want us even in the drugstore if possible.
1/3 is a lot of kids.

I am hoping it is okay for you going back and that the class is okay.  Thank
goodness there has been a better teacher sub and the transition should be
better.  Will be thinking of you.

I just wish the research could have been further along.

Talk to you later in the week.
