OK, for those of you with shoulder issues, I need some more input.

Had my ultrasound of my shoulders, and boy that was a lot more painful
then I had anticipated because as you know, they have to press rather
hard to get all their pictures and such and that part just never dawned
on me until I was getting the ultrasounds on both shoulders.   Should
know by early next week, hopefully what that showed.

Also started my PT and have a lot of work to do, but the PT lady seems
pretty thorough and on top of things.  So we shall see.

Now, after having the ultrasounds on the shoulders flare things up pain
wise a bit more and then starting the PT, I am having some pretty
significant spasming in the left side (the side effected by my stroke)
that goes from the back part of the shoulder up in to the neck!   What a
surprise that was!!!   Am wondering if this is a common symptom or cause
with rotator cuff?  Perhaps just ole Arthur?   Or even possibly some
spasticity from the stroke stuff?  Any one have any ideas or thoughts on
this to share???

For me Donna the spasming was a symptom of the rotator cuff.  I spent
almost 3 months in PT at the end of last year with what I thought was
neck problems then when the therapist moved my arm a light bulb went
on.  3 weeks after she started stretching out my shouler the spams
were gone.

You know it's funny but I have that spasming too but thought it was from
some damaged discs in my neck, but I have rotator cuff and arthritic joint
on the same side as spasms.  They are worse when I go off my
antidepressants. Donna, I hope you hear soon about your ultrasound.
Sincerely
Lorrie F

Thanks, Karen and Lorrie for your input.  Karen, your input was most
helpful-thank you so very much!

Ultra sound was inconclusive, so not sure if the ortho doc will want to
do further testing or not.  The ultrasound report recommended doing an
MRI and if that didn't give any answers to consider an arthrogram.

See the orth guy on friday, so we will see.

PT is coming along although painful.  PT is really great and she said
she already can see some difference (improvement).  We had to stop a bit
early today because of the intense spasming and my therapist had to do
some massaging to work out some big knots from all the spasming.   We
will get there - slowly but surely!!!
