lightweight luggage revisited

Remember our discussion about lightweight luggage? I ended up buying
Tutto luggage, which I don't believe we discussed, but since i just
returned from a ten day trip with it, i thought i'd give it a review.
Tutto is endorsed by the Arthritis Foundation. It's lightweight and
the thing that really makes it different is that it's on four wheels
instead of two. You can se it here http://tutto.com . it's strong
enough to sit on, and you can stack it. i had a 24 inch pullman and a
17 inch carryon. i loved the stackability. the negatives: even though
they show the woman doing stairs with the luggage on the website,
there was no way i was going to go down steps with it and a brace on
my leg, especially not the escalator, so i had to take the elevator.
however, i did get brave enough to go on the up elevator with it and
that was no problem. the other negative is that the pullman has a
detachable handle to pull it by, so before you check it, you need to
detach the handle and stick it in a side pocket. i was afraid it would
damage the pocket, so wrapped it in my light raincoat in the pocket.
all in all, i'm very glad i got it. it's boxy, so has a lot of room
inside, and it's soft-sided so you can cram in some extra stuff as you
travel. but it does have those little quirks i mentioned.

that's my report! the trip was great. i went to my neice's wedding in
BEAUTIFUL bellingham, wa, where our carole lives. sorry i had no time
to meet up with her. then i spent a week with my new granddaughter in
san jose (her pix is on my blog http://dianechamberlain.com/blog/ ). i
wasn't too far from our duckie, but didn't get to see her either. it
was super trip, but i'm paying for it with some major aches and pains
and jet lag. sigh.

Aww, you were here and I didn't get to meet you?  We could have had
coffee somewhere...there's always time in B'ham for coffee :-))  Let me
know when you are coming back this way. I LOVE B'ham :))

i know, carole! i thought of you the 2 1/2 days i was there, tho, and
how lucky you are to live in such a wonderful town. i stayed in the
village inn, which was so charming, but i was monopolized by (very
welcome) family stuff. we had fresh copper river salmon while i was
there. oh my!

Glad to hear you got to taste the salmon :)))  Yes, this town is the
best!  Just don't speed when you are driving!
