Anybody involved in those tornados?
My daughter-in-law works at the hospital and was in her car in the parking
lot at 4 PM, after just getting off from work, when she saw the tornado
coming in Suffolk. It went across the end of the parking lot she was in.
It missed the hospital, but did some damage to windows there with debris.
She got out of her car and herded a bunch of other people back into the
hospital. She spent the next two hours or so getting people out of cars and
other structures that were damaged. She called me at 7 (just after the
weather channel showed a news break about tornadoes - we didn't hear the
location) and told me she and the children, the pets, and their house were
all ok. She was, of course, quite shook up. My son was out of town, I'm
not sure where. I called her back at 9 to see how she was doing. She said
ok and that her oldest son (a senior in high school) was at the hospital
doing triage.
Please pray for her family and all the ones who lost so much in the
tornados. Mom and I are, of course, a little bit shook up, but getting back
to normal since my kids weren't hurt.

I was just watching coverage of it on the news channel a few minutes ago
and it looks just awful. I can only imagine how terrifying it would be
to be caught in one of these. We have hurricanes every few years but at
least we get a couple days warning. I only remember two tornados in
this area in my lifetime.
Thank God your kids are okay and I will pray for those who have been
injured.

I agree - it looks absolutely awful. Just imagining how devastating it would
be to a person's life makes me sad.
Our prayers are with all the Virginians affected by this.

I said prayers last night for everyone when I saw it on the news. It
looked awful! I do hope that everyone is OK. Houses can be rebuilt, the
only important things are the people and pets in our lives.

Thank you, Carole. My daughter-in-law said it was unbelievable the damage
that could happen in such a short time. I am so thankful she and the rest
of the family are all right.

It was absolutely horrifying to watch the news of all of this last
night. Diane C., it immediately made me think of you! I know you don't
live there any more, but it still made me think of when you did live
there.
Loujean, glad your son & dil and kids were ok!
Prayers for all effected by these viscious storms.

Thanks Jo. My son says it looks like a war zone. Since he was in Iraq, I
imagine he knows what that looks like.
