I am glad you mentioned that hospital exception.
The limit I mentioned applies to PT group practices
outside a hospital.

Those 3-times-a-week lab visits for blood tests to get the
warafin level adjusted to a flat plateau would have put a
dent in the budget if they weren't "medically necessary."

Chief, I've been blessed with my protime checks the last about three nonths.
I take 3 mg of warfarin every night and my reading has been 2.6 for a good
while now. Up until then it just kept going up and down, and I had to go in
from 1 week to 3 weeks. Now I go in once a mnth. Sure hope it stays that
well.
