What does this sound like to you. Is it maybe he just threw out his back or
could it be a slipped disc, or ruputred disk thingy. He won't go to the drs
and I am worried about him.

He is talking to me about his back:

but, yeah it's a bit out of wack. to the point that Wednesday morning I
couldn't even lift my legs to put on underwear/pants. I had to sit down to
do it, and I had a extremely bad time putting socks and shoes on.. and
couldn't bend over to touch my toes

I know none of you are drs, just asking for your opinion if you had this
happen to you and what it turned out to be.

He is now taking advil and it is helping it alot.

this is my son that has fms, cfs and jra.

SJ,

Could be anything from really bad muscle spasms to slipped disc or
ruptured dis, to pulled muscles, etc.

Does heat or ice help him at all?

Hope he gets to feeling better soon!

If you can eventualy get him to go to see a doc then it would be worth
getting checked. I have disc problems and other junk in my back and I know
that if you are having problems lifting your legs then it is def worth
getting checked out.

In all honesty, it sounds to me like it could be either, or something else.
If advil is really helping, it could be muscular or an inflammatory process.
Has he been doing anything particularly stressful for his lower bac recently?

There's nothing anybody can do, no matter how many suggestions we give you,
unless he is willing to take the logical first step and find out from some
one who knows what is wrong.

My husband used to think the bills would go away if he couldn't see them!  I
finally had to take over the finances.  He didn't mind staying up with sick
kids, so it was a fair exchange!  Right now, he might want to try cold
packs, if heat doesn't work.

I wasn't looking for suggestions or a diagnosis Navy.

I think I was looking for comfort and someone would say that it was just
maybe he threw his back out and I was worrying over it being something more.
;-)

I have so much stress right now I didn't need to hear about his back. Then
to top that off, last night my other son told me they were both getting
their hours cut back. Which now will have an affect on us, because Jims dad
can't help us financially anymore so Chris was going to and now that their
hours are being cut back I am not sure he will be able to either.

(((((squirrelly)))))
(((((husband)))))

I currently have a confirmed pinced nerve in my back and I can't bend
over either.  But there are other reasons for not bending over!

Thanks Vickie, and I hope that is all it is, I know that is bad enough, but
I am so worried he did something that he might need surgery for to fix it.
He just doesn't have a clue what could be going on.
