"Cubicle Solutions" of New Hampshire: Employees Unwilling to Move
Truck Blocking 2 Handicapped AND Senior Shuttle Bus Parking.
-----

This happened on Monday, April 14, 2008 around 11:30 AM, in the
Brigham Circle area of Boston, Massachusetts.

A truck belonging to CUBICLE SOLUTIONS of New Hampshire blocked access
to 2 handicapped-parking and a Shuttle Bus for Seniors parking spaces
for about 20 minutes.

When they did so, the Shuttle Bus was directly behind them.  The bus
driver repeatedly called to the 3 employees who walked away from him.

I called from across the parking lot that their truck was blocking
these spaces.  I was also ignored.

When I went to the back of the bus and confronted the employees of
Cubical Solutions, they refused to reply, let alone move their truck.
They continued to unload it.  When I persisted with my complaint, I
was told by one of the employees to "eat sh.t pie".

A call to the Cubical Solutions company resulted in an unsatisfactory
response.

I consider it, but this was in Boston.

It would likely take them a half-hour or more to get there as it would
be considered a low priority call.  By then, the truck could have
moved or even been gone.

Don't know about Boston, but in Western Colorado, the police will not
do anything about a situation in a "private" parking lot.  I worked
for the local Social Services department, and the police would not
even attend an accident unless there were injuries.

The police department (and Sheriff's dep't) always cited that it was a
private parking lot, therefore the responsibility of the building
owners (even though it was a county gov't building).

i would be contacting local newspapers and electronic media, 'and' the
mayor's office - whoever handles disability issues. if you have council
members by geographic area, who is elected for that district...

also, what business where they unloading for/to? wonder how they feel
about using a provider that does such things?

I would call all of those places, including the local Senior Citizen's
Office, after I called the police.  If, as in some places, the parking lots
are considered private property, I bet if somebody parked their cars, with
handicap stickers, in front of and behind the offending truck - you would
have seen some action.  I was going into a handicapped diagonal parking spot
when some one was coming down the wrong way in the lane.  I just sat part
way out, so that he had to back up, so I could back out again and maneuver
into the spot.  A lot of our shopping centers here have law enforcement
substations in the mall, which has really helped a lot.

I think your company stinks for letting your employees block handicapped
parking spaces, and keeping the Shuttle Bus for Seniors from their parking
space this morning in the Bingham Circle area of Boston, Massachusetts about
11:30 AM.

I hope you don't suffer that fate if you are ever severely handicapped and
really need a space to park, or if you are old and frail and have to ride
the Senior Shuttle Bus when they need their space to park in.

I have heart disease, lung disease, Parkinsons Disease, and arthritis so I
know whereof I speak.

Why do I get the inclination that this may be a story published by a
disgruntled employee or someone who has a grudge against this company?
I hope I am wrong.

If this is true, why didn't folks just call the local police.  A car
would have been dispatched and the officer would have informed the
driver that the vehicle must be moved.  Another action would have been
going inside to the business and asking for the owner and explaining the
problem.

You are.  I work in a library in the Boston area.

As I said previously, this is Boston.  A police car *might* have shown
up in a 1/2 hour or likely longer.  This would not have been a high
priority concern for them.  By that time they would have moved (which
the did after about 15-20 minutes) or would have long been gone from
the area.

Also I do not have a cell phone.

> Another action would have been
> going inside to the business and asking for the owner and explaining the

This was at a shopping center.  It was impossible to know who they
were delivering to.

I planned to follow them to whatever company they were delivering to,
but after they had unloaded the truch, then then moved it from
blocking these parking spaces.

Which, by the way, I was totally very clearly by the supervisor(?)
among these three men they were ONLY doing because they WANTED to and
this had NOTHING to do with what I had said or that they were blocking
parking spaces.

These three guys just did *not* care.

In response to the recent postings on Google group forums we wish to
respond with an apology to the community.  Cubicle Solutions, Inc.
certainly does not wish to portray its image with disrespectful
actions.  We regret this situation has happened and wish to apologize
to anyone who feels that they were disrespected or inconvenienced.  It
is not Cubicle Solutions' policy to block handicap parking or bus
stops of any kind. We at Cubicle Solutions, Inc. do respect the rights
of the handicap and senior citizens. The employees who were involved
in this situation will be disciplined according to our company
policies.

It was our intent to handle this situation discretely when it was
originally brought to our attention.  However, the phone call was
ended abruptly and we were unable to obtain any contact information in
regards to issuing a formal apology to the gentlemen who originally
placed the complaint with our office.  Again, we apologize to the
citizens of our community and the surrounding communities we serve for
any inconvenience this has caused.

Well, I would also end the conversation aburtly after being told to "eat
sh.t pie" by one of your employees. No amount of apologies... other than
perhaps seeing your employees doing community service for a disabled or
senority organization... would go toward erasing *that* memory from my mind
if it had happened to me. And you say you wanted to "handle a situation
discretely"? I'll bet. No company wants the disabled community on its rear
end... we're a force to be reckoned with... but the truth of the matter is
your employees need to understand disabled people aren't going to be
"discrete" about rude, *illegal* actions against a fellow disabled person...
and, yes, the action was *illegal*... not just "disrepectful" or an
"inconvenience." I know you won't admit to your employees doing something
"illegal", but that's the truth of the matter. Just check your state laws
out, if you don't believe me.

Heck, the *only* reason they apologized was because I told them I was
going to post this incident to Usenet (and I had to explain what
Usenet was) -- which then resulted in them getting other complaints.

"Handling it discretly" meant they wanted to keep it out of the
public's attention -- even though their three employees made it very
clearly to everyone around or who walked by *and* the bus driver of
the senior shuttle -- that they didn't give a f.ck about blocking
these spaces and they weren't going to move until the finished
whatever they were doing, however long it took.

They sure as hell owned more people that me an apology.  I'm not
handicapped;  I was parked over 100 yards from where tha truck was. I
was just trying to be a good citizen and got sh.t from those jerks
about it.

I hope those three guys got more than a slap on the wrist.

DO I detect that typical, low class, republican BITTERNESS, coming from an
imbecile
who thinks the most serious problem in the world is having to tote a fat a.s

how about sending e-mails and calling the presidunce and ask him to stop

Creep ?

LMAO,
coming from a self centered, whining, old cry baby, that's supposed to mean
what ?

you must be one of those elitist, fat a.s conservatives, bitter over 7 years
of ignorance and poverty,
yet still clinging to those petty inanities like whining about hard working
people taking 15 minutes to
do a hell of a lot harder job than you'll ever do,

can any human get any more petty, selfish, arrogant,
self centered than whining about 3 other human beings wasting 15 minutes of
your valuable life ?

so you would rather have them carry heavy furniture for blocks than have
your fat, privileged , over fed
a.s delayed, or made to get some well needed exercise ?

what a human being,

Well, I live in the US, and I'm not Republican... nor even conservative.
It's sad to hear you're willing to trample all other US laws to stop the
war. I, too, want the war to stop. I write countless emails and letters
about it. That does not mean I want to toss every other US law out the
window and go back to living in the wild, wild west. I'll tell you what...
I'll give you one of my old wheelchairs for a year... if you promises to use
it during all of your non-sleeping hours. Then... you can come back, tell

it's justified.

Do you know how many seriously wounded and crippled-for-life soldiers
have and are returning from Iraq who now need to use handicapped
parking spaces, Mr Crocodile?

Do you think these soldiers would appreciate you calling their
concerns "petty"?

You seem like a well rounded, honest person that knows from which they
speak.   Please try to understand that you are dealing with a troll who only
enjoys the abuse of others with words.   The very best thing you can do is
to ignore this person.   Believe me when I say that if he gets abusive
enough his use of the internet will be looked at.

The truth of it is that I feel sorry for you.   I hate to think how much
pain and suffering must be in your life to make you enjoy being and doing as
you do.   Is it chronic-pain, or multi-sclerosis, or handicapped???  Where
does your real pain come from?

actually, it comes from arrogant, obnoxious, self centered, non human,
whiners,
cry babies, and soulless hillbillies like you, who go out of their way to
make life as difficult
as possible for others out of a sense of BITTERNESS at their own
predicament,

damn boy, you would have fit in perfectly, in Selma in 1957,Munich in 1935,
Phnom Penh in 1975,Moscow in 1915,Atlanta in 1859,Salem in the 1600's,

just now learning the lesson that everyone can bitch, but most people don't
make a career out of it ?

you know what's really frustrating, it's those ancient people driving their
20 year old tanks at 18 feet per hour
into and out of those handicapped parking spaces,

dragging their fat a.ses to just inside the store door and coming to a dead
stop while the 6 people behind them
have a chain reaction collision,

or the old imbeciles making a left turn into a parking lot
and coming to a dead stop at the curb looking for the best parking space
while the people behind them are stuck in the street,

you see them at the post office holding up 23 people to choose 1 stamp from
the entire inventory,

counting out pennies at the checkout, or writing a check in slow motion
during the busiest time of the week, or chatting with
the clerk while mothers with screaming babies are 16 deep in line behind
them, stopping their cart every 4 feet in the middle of the aisle,
parking the cart on one side of the aisle while they rummage through the
shelves on the other side, effectively blocking the whole aisle

how's that ?, for some professional whining ? so do I yell for the store
manager, make an a.s out of myself by
making some crude or snotty remark, or just smile pleasantly and say there
are worse things that can happen to you

get a grip

I started this subject.

I find your connection of my complaint of 3 rude idiots blocking
handicapped parking and a senior shuttle (which was directly *behind*
the truck and could not get into its assigned parking place) with
Republican, ultraconservative politics to be completely absurd and
illogical.

I'm a Independent voters who 99% of the time votes Democrat.  The
times I have voted Republican was when they were MORE liberal than the
Democrat.  (I live in Massachusetts and that happened once in a
Governor's race.)

Gods, I voted for Eugene McCarthy for President!

It is the Democrats that have repeatedly over they years supported
legislation for the handicapped and not the Republicans.  That is
because Democrats tend to care more about people than corporations.

To think that objecting to the blocking of handicapped parking is
somehow a reflection of SUPPORT for the Iraq War is complete STUPID.

I was totally *against* the invasion of Iraq when Bush and his
Administration started his drumbeat of lies to the American people and
to Congress.  I considered Bush's whole hype about Iraqi WMD to be
lies from the beginning and everything that has followed in the past
5+ years has shown me to be right.

Your criticism of handicapped parking spaces is something I would
completely expect from someone who is an ultraconservative Republican
ranting and raving about some people getting "special rights".

It is not something I would expect from someone who cared not only
about thousands of American soldiers and hundreds of thousands of
Iraqi civilians have been and are still being killed in an illegal and
immoral war.

I *CARE* about people.  I am completely against the Iraq War.  I am
against Bush and his Administration.  I am *against* people blocking
handicapped parking for their own selfish and self-centered reasons.

You, Mr. Crocodile, are either an idiot or a troll or both.
