Carole - in your new eating habits (did not use the d word), did you/do you
ever have a day when you say "Today I am going to eat anything that passes
in front of me!"? That's what I am doing today. Whatever my mouth says would
be nice, I've eaten. It's been a long, long time since I did this and it
feels good. Although the oreo cookie cakes tasted like pure sugar. Ugh! But
I have had extra Pepsi, dark chocolate and plan to have wrapped hot dogs for
dinner. (Walmart has a little shop where they wrap hotdogs in bisquit dough
and bake them. Heavenly when dipped in mustard.) I just wondered if I was
the only one who does this kind of thing about once every six months or so.

as a kid..now they do not taste the same...but yet nothing really does for
me lately..

Yea, I actually took a couple of days off from my food plan during the
move. My friends took me out to dinner on Sunday. We went to a local
casual place and I had a reuben sandwich :-) And last night I was too
tired to cook after doing the move so I went to Shari's and had chicken
teriyaki. I didn't feel bad about it because on both days it was the
only meal I had. Today hasn't been much better since my friends paid for
a cleaning lady so I had to be over at the other place all day. I'm
going to go make a nice dinner now if I can muster up the energy :-))
Once I put my birdie to bed tonight, I'm going to throw on my bathing
suit and robe and go soak in the hot tub :)

ROFL!! I must be a cheap date. Even after all the absolute crap I ate today,
I just ran the numbers and I managed a measly 2449 calories. LOL Oh, well,
tomorrow it's back to the treadmill and planning the food.

I just got on the scale and with all that my eating has been off the
past few days due to moving, I stayed at the same weight. Today it's
back to the food plan and the university workouts at 2pm. I went to our
clubhouse last night and just soaked in the hot tub for 15 minutes with
the jets going full blast. It was heaven! My new apartment is so close
to the clubhouse that I can just put a bathing suit on, put my big terry
robe on, and walk over there :))
Life is good :)

On the TV show "The Biggest Loser" one of the trainers said that he
has his people have a "cheat" food every week after the weigh-in
because it is a reward and helps the body not to think it is starving.
I am working with a personal trainer who is a body builder and he
recommends a "zig zag" diet - every 4 day (or once a week) increase
your calories to kick start the body. I haven't been doing it but I'm
going to start having an "off plan" food like pizza or a hamburger on
one weekend day and see what happens.

Personally, I hate that show as I don't believe it's fair to pit men
against women. Our bodies function differently and we lose weight very
differently.
Well, I went to a restaurant on Sunday and again on Monday (due to the
move) and I didn't lose any weight this week...just stayed the same. So
I'm not sure that works :)

Psychics also look both ways before crossing :))

I like the show but I agree that men vs women is not fair but it is
fun to watch. The trainer also watches and when I see him on Wed we
talk about the show and criticize the people we think are bitchy. It
can be depressing when they are losing double digits and I'm losing
about 2 pounds per week. But I am down 59 pounds and below 200 for the
first time in years.

Don't forget that they are exercising four to six HOURS every day! And they
have people there telling them all about nutrition, etc. They're under
constant doctor supervision, so don't bother comparing your weight loss
journey to theirs. It's like comparing night to day, won't happen. As long
as you are eating properly and controlling portions, exercising two to four
times a week, you're doing better than the average American.
Hang in there!

Don't let it get to you, Betty. They are exercising 8-10 hours per day
on that show. They are also on strict diets. 2 lbs a week is a healthy
weight loss. You are doing fine. Being healthy is the most important
thing. And remember that 2 lbs per week is 104 lbs in a year :) It
didn't go on overnight and it won't come off overnight. Working out with
a trainer is great and I'm sure he's helping you a lot. I know mine is
:) I'm so grateful for the program I got into at the local university as
it's all free :))
Keep going! I am so looking forward to when my weight will be under 200.
It will be the first time since 1984!

WOW - you mean I came up with a standard all on my own? LOL I do feel better
since I had the junk day. Maybe I'll do that every two weeks. I don't have
the courage to undo the work I do by doing it every week.
