I got a questionnaire from Abbott Labs asking me about 'my' RA. It had
rather benign questions about current treatment and attitude. Abbott
offered an arthritis cookbook (?) as a free gift if I were to return the
filled out survey. I was curious about the cookbook (what foods reduce
symptoms, I suppose) so I filled the card out and sent it off.
I am curious as to how Abbott got the information that I'd been
diagnosed with RA. I'm 100% sure that no medical provider I have seen
gave my name to the drug company.
Have any of you RA guys gotten this survey?

Unless you have signed up for a subscription to any arthritis related
maganzine, my best bet would be they got your name through your
insurance company.

No subs. Maybe you hit it.

I'm PA, but haven't gotten the survey, despite having been on some of the
"miracle" RA meds.

I think the point is that I'll get Abbott's lit on a new miracle drug &
how to tell my doc that I need it. I'm interested in the cookbook.

Sometimes a "friend" will complete a postcard in Arthritis Today
or similar publication.
It would be a violation of federal law (HIPPA) for an insurance
company to reveal anything about a client without the client's
permission.
