Well yesterday I got a sample of the Advil PM in the Sunday Paper. I had
been wanting to try it, so I thought Great!
I ususally take Tylenol PM with my Zanaflex at night to help me get that
good sleep us FM patients lack.
I thought the Advil might help with my arthritis as well.
But I had the same problem with the Advil as I have with Trazadone..Severe
Dry mouth...
So much so that it makes my sleep worse as I wake up constantly to drink
water...
Darn it...
So much for that...Oh well, at least I can get the generic Tylenol PM...I am
certainly glad I got to try a sample before purchasing a whole bottle...

Anything with the benadry in it such as tylenol PM or advil PM will do that. Benadryl is used to dry
up stuff and allergic reactions.  Plus it is an anti histamine like they use for colds.

read labels and ask the pharmacist if you don't know but I hope you find something to help you
sleep.  Many use a script of ambien.  Can you ask your doctor to recommend something for you Cindy
that is over the counter??

Another friend of mine uses cymbalta for FM pain and she says it seems to work pretty good. Lyrica
is another one but boy I tried that and got so spacey on it I would never take it again.

My daughter's pain doctor has her on cymbalta and lyrica for FM pain.

Try Unisom. I'm a big dude, and one is good,  sometimes half of one. I
don't know how much you need the painkillers in the other on top of
what you may already be taking, but I try to keep my active
ingredients separate. Doxylamine succinate, it's another
antihistamine, but in my experience, it hasn't been so drying, and I'm
not groggy the next day.

I think there may be two forms of unisom now, don't go for the
diphenhydramine, it's the same stuff you've been trying.

It does take a bit to get used to Lyrica - the spaciness did end for me
after a bit.

The active ingredient in most over the counter sleep aids is
diphenhydramine.  Good old Benedryl.  Its pretty inexpensive if you buy the
store brand.  I like the liquid as it can be hard to find the pills that
don't contain extras.  There is always a bottle of it next to the bed, with
a shot glass next to it.
