I was in Mason three weeks ago for a wedding. I am sure that is not too far
from you.

It was bad here Thursday night and all day and night on Friday. I was
outside under a tarp cooking up maple syrup as ice was building up on the
tarp. I did stay dry and warm enough.
We had about 3" of snow then a nice layer of ice to cover it. Luckily, I
stayed right here! I teach school and we were out of course. We got
another inch of fluffy snow this afternoon. Not enough to cause any
problems.
WLW talked about the terrible roads all evening Friday. I am sure it was a
mess up yor way.

I am in Oblerlin, which is in Lorain County.
I have heard of the Cleveland Clinic, so will check it out. Husband
died a little over a month ago, and am here with my son for a while.
Don't know if I will settle in the area of not; Minneapolis has
nothing for me there now, execpt my docs.
What I need to find first is someone who does hands. Having a flare
in one thumb; keeps triggering. Think I need a cortisone shot.
BTW, a cardiologist reccomendation will be welcomed. Family history
and such. DH had a heart attack 4 years ago, and I think/hope that I
am treating myself right in that way.
A little history about me; once he had his heart attack, I became his
caretaker, medical advocate. He soon was dx with severe COPD; was on
oxygen 24/7 and in the last 6 months before his death, was dx with a
reoccurance of Hairy Cell Leukemia(HCL). He died because of a fall.
Seems strange that I can now just heal on my own, no one else to worry
about.
Thanks for the recs. Now I know where to start.

Don't know who long you have been dealing with the trigger finger issue,
but have you considered having a trigger finger release done? It is an
outpatient surgical procedure (usually done by an orthopedic doctor)
that is fairly easy to recover from and brings a great deal of relief.
I had both index fingers done about a year or so ago and am thrilled
with the results and not having to deal with the constant triggering,
injections, pain, etc. Just a thought.
The cleveland clinic website is below if you want to poke around it a
bit.

Thanks for the info. WIll check it out.

my condolences on the loss of your husband. (mine passed away, under
somewhat similar circumstances, 5 years ago, next month, after his valiant
16 1/2 month battle for survival.) do focus on taking care of yourself now,
rose. it takes a lot out of a person being a caregiver and advocate, much
more than we realize, though we do it willingly and lovingly.
re: the triggering thumb. i had the the trigger release surgery done years
ago on my left thumb and haven't regretted it since.
welcome back to asa, rose.
