got the report back from the ct scan for my arteries. while there are a few
spots that are blocked they are not bad enough to require any sort of
"intervention" at this time. that is certainly good news. but the other side
of the coin means that the intermittent claudication (which is considered
advanced stage) is being caused by my ddd in my lower spine. we know what
the fix for that would be and it "ain't gonna happen!"

Oh Gary sorry to hear that.

I am having to have back surgery this next wed.  Seems the area of the lower spine L4 ruptured big
time an the pain is terrible. Brought me to my knees and then the floor. We were headed to Fl when
it happened and what a mess. Alabama ER gave me 4 shots for pain, headed to Fl, got to that ER and
they gave me 2 more. Refused to refer me to any neurosurgeon an told me IF I want to find one, to go
to the Yellow pages and pick with my finger.  Believe that?
Then got to the RV park and the park and people tried to find me some  help.  Called 2 spine
clinics, I HAD already had a MRI which showed pinch but it was not bad, they refused to treat but if
I had  $14,900.00 UP front cash then they would see me in 2 weeks.  NO insurance papers will they
mess with. NONE> Got to a pain clinic doc, he was fine and he did a block on me the 4th of Jan.   NO
help and his one staff member was an idiot with no sympathy and no compassion at all.
We called my ohio neurologist and he said to head home. We did in 2 days, traveling with a Rv, car
and I was in bed laying in the back.  OH my pain pills did nothing.
So had mylogram and the doc is excellant, made sure I was in la la area and did it.  Sure enough big
time rupture right above my previous surgery.  I am using cane and walker and Wheel chair when out.
Not a fun time

the claudication you are talking about is where? I missed other posts. and what would be that fix?
I also found I have Subclavian steal syndrome and they may have to bypass that sometime in the
future.  But we will cross that bridge later MUCH MUCH later.

so email me and fill me in here man.

Oh and if you pour your coffee slowly, you will not drip.  Good to the last drop any how LOL

Janers, what a terrible trip.  Will be praying for the surgery to be done
perfectly and you have outstanding results from it.

((((((((((((((((janers))))))))))))))  it sounds like you found every doc in
the area who had forgotten their Hippocratic oaths!  How horrible.

The lovely chiro i wish we hadn't moved away from told me L4-5 is the most
common area of spinal injuries.  I'd think those of you with chronic spine
problems would be even more vulnerable.  Still, I wish it hadn't happened to
you, and especially wish it hadn't happened like that!

Oy.  anything they can do to help it a bit, short of the drastic spinal
surgery?  Of course, it's good to know your heart is relatively well, so you
can live with this for years to come!

glad the artery stuff isn't as bad as you thought it might be. Sorry to hear
about the back stuff though.

You take care and hang in there ok.

Not much to do but hang in there Jo. I'm pretty good at doing that
fortunately.
