It's been one of those weeks where typing is painful, but I have to ask for
your prayers for my stepdaughter, Emily. When we were down there at
Christmas, she was on month 4 of fatigue and periodic fevers that had been
diagnosed as mono and her doc had told her to give it up to 6 months to go
away. Around the 1st she had a sinus infection that was treated, but she
continued to run a steady low-grade fever. She decided it was time to get to
an internist.
Today, we heaerd from her about the rigermarole of testing she's been trough
over the past 2 weeks. Thus far tough, they've basically ruled out a lot of
frightening stuff. She had more blood drawn this week for another slue of
tests. She's currently teaching 2 classes a week and supposed to be working
on her dissertation, but is too worn out to do much. She and her husband
were planning to go several places in Europe in May, partly vacation, partly
for her to do research. Needless to say, it's way past time for her to feel
better. Any prayers or good thoughts for wise physicians and solutions would
be much appreciated!

I will certainly remember Emily in my prayers. Ask her if she has been
tested for parvo. My goddaughter was diagnosed with mono and did have
it, but also was found later to have parvo which has these symptoms.

So he was out of school for two years.

thanks for the prayers and suggestions. i'll pass them on to Emily. It
does sound like the internist she's seeing now is being quite thorough and
determined to pin down what's going on. Fortunately, Emily has a supportive
and understanding husband, but 30 is too young to feel this lousy for so
long! It's also good that she doesn't have any of my family's autoimmune
genes - both her biological parents are ridiculously healthy. that has me
worrying less about the chronic illness possibilities.
