And I now have on a short cast and can use the fingers on my left hand!  Am
so thankful for that.  He took another xray of my left hip  because I still
can't stand or walk on it.  It is so painful.  He still couldn't see
anything there so I will be having a full body bone scan next Wednesday and
back to Dr. H on Thursday.  I have no pain going down my leg but some going
up my back on left side.  Have prescription for wheelchair but the problem
is finding one with a 13 inch wide seat.  Anything wider will not go through
my bedroom door.  Found one when ankle was broken but can't remember where
it was!  One place is looking now and will start calling other medical
supply houses when we hear from them.  Only found the one place who had one
last time.  Am very thankful for the good from this trip; can now use my
elbow and fingers!

Gwen, I'm happy to hear you got into the short cast.  At least that
gives you some mobility in that hand.  Do you think the hip pain could
be bursitis?  Have they tried a short of cortizone yet?  I hope you get
some relief soon.

Ann, In the last 9 weeks I've had 4 injections, 3 in my shoulders and 1 in
my hip.  The hip one was on Monday, 1/21/08.  Didn't have much effect.  Doc
first said bursitis but now he's not sure.

You have had more than your fair share Gwen and I hope things improve for
you very soon.  Glad to hear about the cast though.

The 13 inch seat doesn't seem realistic so think I remember wrong.  Am weary
of working on that this AM so am going to take a nap.  It seems to help my
hip to stay in bed a couple of hours each afternoon.

glad to hear you can use your fingers and elbow again. That is good news at
least.
I hope you heal quickly and can find out what is causing the hip issues and
get that fixed too.

Woooohooooo, Gwen!!!   Glad you got the smaller cast on, now just pray
the next step will be out of the cast and back to some semblance of
normal.
