Hello,

Clinic called with the results of the ultrasound on my legs and heart. the
heart test showed some back
leakage on both sides through the valve, but is within acceptable limits.
the leg tests came back abnormal
and I have to go in for a ct scan on my legs up in Rockford (bigger city 40
miles NW.) Good news is this
is not being caused by my spine. If it was that, then major spinal surgery.
This may involve putting in a
stint, but we have to get the results of the ct first. don't know when the
test will be yet. Will find out in the next
couple of days.

On another note, thanks for the b'day card Jo!

Hi Ari,

Dunno, she mentioned 2 sides. One was mitral valve and then used I think a
couple of 19 letter words
for the other! Wasn't concerned about the specifics as long as "passed the
test" was in there somewhere.
I'll find out more when I see them again.

Hey Gary,

Glad you passed the heart tests, but sorry to hear the leg tests didn't
turn out so well.

I'm glad that you don't have to have the major back surgery, but hope
the leg stuff doesn't turn out to be tooo major of a deal.   Keep us
posted and know that prayers will be flowing for you!

Hugs,

hi donna,

Hmmm, my shift finger does not appear to be working well this morning.

Anyway, from what I can read I have a couple of options and they depend on

how far down the leg the blockage exists. The higher up the more likely they
can balloon

it and put in a stent. lower down and they replace the section of vein.
There is also a possibility

of trying to treat it with drugs, diet and exercise. That can take up to and
over a year to

see results, if any. Exercise is a problem for my back, especially any kind
of weight bearing.

Not being able to walk distance is how I got to this point to begin with.
So....

Be happy, be well, and may you many days upon this earth.

ah, hang in there Gary.  At least you are spared open heart or spinal surgery
for now!  Hopefully your legs will be easily treatable and they can figure
out some way for you to exercise to avoid future problems.
