Tempur-pedic/  Tempurpedic   question

We are thinking of buying of Tempur pedic  type matteress.

If anyone in this group is using one...
Would you pls let us know your thoughts.

Tempur pedic  is quite expensive. We have heard that many companies
now  have very similar products in the marketplace and at more
reasonable prices.
Can anyone who  has experience / is knowledgeable about this, pls let
us know.

What brand is the best value for money ?

We need a Queen and live in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA.
Any particular outlet/store that has the best deals ?

Any thoughts/ suggestions/ ideas /pointers would be highly
appreciated.

Thanks,
Ayesha Hill

I live in Ohio, so can't help you on stores. I bought mine through the Army
and Air Force Exchange. I just got the top mattress and put it on my box
frame. I love it. It cradles me. When I get up to go to the bathroom, it has
already sprung back to its original shape by the time I return. The only
problem I have is getting up in the morning. I don't want to leave it.

Hope that helps

We bought one at Costco. Probably not the temperpedic brand, but certainly a
dense memory foam. Better price than anywhere around. About $500 - 600 for a
Queen size mattress. Made a huge difference in the quality of my sleep.
Waking from joint pain is greatly reduced (though not always eliminated). I
can't imagine sleeping on anything else after getting this kind of relief.

Because it conforms around the body, any memory foam mattress will be warmer
than standard mattresses, which allow air to flow around the body. It's my
only complaint. There have been times I've awakened quite sweaty or thirsty
in the middle of the night. Not an issue in the summer when the A/C is on,
but definitely an issue at other times.

We have one and like it very much. We paid about $1,000 for a queen. I
forget the brand. It was a close out.
