But our 3 most serious job possibilities right now all come with 4 bedroom housing, leaving lots of room for guests. And this job north of Buffalo is only about 25 miles from Niagara Falls!
Wester NC is our goal for retirement, but first Mike has to put in enough years for health insurance to be included in the pension.

Navy - 19 Jan 2008 23:53 GMT Better take a couple of snow shovels with up there! Or you could just hibernate for the winter. LOL (that can mean lots of love, too)

That said, we own 4, count 'em four snows hovels now! We had one for each car, though the Toyota just reached the end of its service this week. And we have 2 for home so we can shovel together, but also with different blade types for dry or wet snow. These are things i never learned about growing up in north Florida! LOL I shoveled yesterday, Mike did today, we expect a couple more inches tonight......

Nann Bell - 21 Jan 2008 20:55 GMT > Sounds like fun, says Loujean from sunny South Carolina! :-) LOL sure! this morning the overnight snow was quite dry, making it easy to shovel. Of course, it was so dry, because it was quite cold. (now, at 3:30 pm it's finally reached a toasty 15 degrees F!) I wasn't even getting warm until I'd finished our drive and done half of our neighbor/friend's drive (she truly can't shovel, so we often do hers if she hasn't already been plowed). It was such nice snow to shovel, I even did our other elderly widowed neighbor who we don't really know beyond saying hello to. "bleak midwinter" is much more meanngful to us these days! Still, snow shoveling is good exercise and does help get the blood flowing. Just don't tell my RD how much of it i do.

Please don't do so much at one time Nann. If you have a gas powered blower, its one thing but that shovel has killed lots of people but you know that and I am wasting my breath. :-) Harv

If you have a gas powered blower, > its one thing but that shovel has killed lots of people but you know that > and I am wasting my breath. :-) > Harv It's a good point that's always worth remembering, Harv. Lately we've been having dry snow, which you basically scoot off to the side. No strain there, We have to pace ourselves and watch though with wet heavy snow - such as we expect Monday pm and mos of Tuesday. That's when our neighbors often have to pay the plow as our drive is all we can handle. Might do Phyllis's (the neighbor/friend) if both of us are shoveling that day - her drive is much shorter than ours and easier to shovel.

Carole - 29 Jan 2008 07:17 GMT Bellingham is having snow right now. It's SO pretty out there! And I'm so glad that I'm retired and don't have to worry about driving in it tomorrow!
I was supposed to take Dundee to the birdie store tomorrow, but we'll have to wait till Thursday when this is all cleared. It's his birthday (well, actually his hatch day :)) tomorrow. He'll be 8 years old which is still young for a cockatiel :) He's such a sweetie. We have to go to the birdie store to get him some new toys :)) Is he spoiled?? Hell, yes :-)))

Navy - 26 Jan 2008 19:14 GMT I live in Columbia with my Mom on the northeast side of town, right at the intersection of I77 and SC12 (near I20 and I77). It makes it easy to tell if the rain is going to hit us! My oldest son is the service manager at Best Buy in Myrtle Beach. He lives there with his wife, Cyndi, and step daughter, Emily. I've not been to Beaufort, though.

LOL) DeeTee and Bob Taggart - 18 Jan 2008 18:32 GMT DeeTee is okay. I actually stood up a while ago without using my hands! That was a milestone as far as I'm concerned. I'm getting lots of rest each day just as I am supposed to. I see the surgeon for my follow-up on Jan 29th and am SO looking forward to being released back into the wild. If he says it's okay, I am going to start back on the treadmill. Cindy showed us how it's done.

Nann Bell - 18 Jan 2008 20:36 GMT Yippee!!! I fully understand the joy of getting up without using your hands. After that biopsy, for the longest time I had to do convoluted things to get up. It was interesting getting up from exam tables at the doctors' offices! The best way to get up had some of them fearing I'd fall off and hurt myself more! LOL
Truly excellent to hear you are sleeping better - most likely healing better for that also. as for the images evoked by the thought of releasing you out in the wild again........ well, I won't go there.....
