Thanks, Donna. We've ended up with a frantically busy "weekend", but it's
one that puts things in perspective. A 52 year old fellow died suddenly of a
heart attack early Friday morning. He had bad experiences with church in the
past and wouldn't come, but his wife, teenage son and one adult daughter are
dear members of our church. Large extended family so the little church will
be bursting at the seams for today's memorial service. After cooking for the
reception following that and for us all afternoon yesterday, I got a call
from our neighbor across the street - she had the stomach crud and couldn't
bake the rolls as she had agreed to. Well, I understand about stomach bugs,
tending to get them every few months of late myself. Got the rolls from the
church freezer and discovered I had to let them thaw, then rise, THEN bake!
It was midnight before they were done. I'm so tired now, with the service
and reception/meal yet to go. But I'm alive, no stomach bug for now and I'm
grateful.
Oh and 32 year old mother of two was killed on M-32 Thursday. Truck driver
husband was in PA on a haul, but was able to fly back. Head-on collision
that sheared the passenger side of her car off. Yes, I'm grateful to be
alive and to have this wonderful circle of friends.

Sorry to hear of the deaths and illnesses and such.
You sure have been busy. I hope you finally get to rest up some now. You
take care and look out for my dear dear friend and sister Nann ok. ;-)

Thanks, SJ, it's been a sad week around this town. Monday was the memorial
servide of the fellow who had the heart attack. His widow obviously hadn't
had any decent sleep since his death. Your heart really went out to her.
They both worked at WalMart and the local manager had his priorities right.
They ran the store on a skeleton crew Monday afternoon so as many fellow
employees as possible could come to the service.
Tuesday was the service for the young woman killed in the car accident. (the
website of our local weekly has a poto of the wreck on their website
http://nemichigan.com - truly horrific.) she was a teller at our branch bank
in town. They shut down completely for the service - no sign on the door,
everyone knew where they were.
Yesterday and today I've just been doing a bit of housework and otherwise
recovering for being on my feet for 4.5 hours straight for Monday's service.
Every available pew space in the church and every chair in the church and
parish hall were occupied with srevice attendees standing in the hall. Terry
was a well-loved man.

Oh I feel for all those people that have been affected by these deaths.
I am glad you are able to kind of get some normal things done now. But you
still need to get some rest too.
oh that accident did look bad.
