Has anyone tried ultram for severe knee painof arthritis (chondrocalcinosis, according to my rheumy). He prescribed this (for me, NSAIDS can cause GI problems) MB MB, I take Ultram ER daily for arthritis pain,, and take Ultram 50 mg once or twice a day for break through pain. Mine is not strictly for knee pain; I have OA pain just about all over. It still gives me insomnia if I take a dose after about 3 p.m. Mine is for general arthritis pain- OA and RA- and I have had two right hip replacements in the past 4 years. I have taken it for at least 5 years. Only in the morning though as the Ultram makes me too wakeful at night. Sincerely, Carol Hmmmmmmmmm - I've been having trouble sleeping lately. Wonder if'n it's the ultram. Maybe I'll try an experiment and use Tylenol tonight.
