Has anyone tried ultram for severe knee painof arthritis (chondrocalcinosis,
according to my rheumy).

He prescribed this (for me, NSAIDS can cause GI problems)

MB, I take Ultram ER daily for arthritis pain,, and take Ultram 50 mg once
or twice a day for break through pain.  Mine is not strictly for knee pain;
I have OA pain just about all over.

MB, I also take Ultram 50 mg 1-3 times a day as needed for pain.  And
have for 10 years!

I've used Ultram for about 8 years.  It still gives me insomnia if I take a
dose after about 3 p.m.  Mine is for general arthritis pain- OA and RA- and
I have had two right hip replacements in the past 4 years.

My concern is the addiction aspect. That sounds scary.

Hi,

I have had serious GI bleeds from NSAIDS so I take Ultram. I have
taken it for at least 5 years. Only in the morning though as the
Ultram makes me too wakeful at night.

Sincerely, Carol

Hmmmmmmmmm - I've been having trouble sleeping lately. Wonder if'n it's the
ultram.  Maybe I'll try an experiment and use Tylenol tonight.
