Hey, everyone!  I hope you all had joyous holidays!

I would like to ask that the ASA prayer machine  be cranked up for my
friend Martha and her new baby, Alice.  Baby Alice was born several
months early on 12/21 (she wasn't due until March).  She is able to
breathe on her own now, but will have to stay at the hospital for the
next 5-7 weeks before she can go home.  Please add Martha, Rich &
Alice to your prayer lists for the next several weeks - they will be
needing it.

Thanks.

I will certainly add the baby and family to my prayer list.  They work
miracles with preemies these days and I hope she will be one of the
miracles.

I've added them to my list, Shannon. I do hope the baby is doing much
better.

Shannnon, I'm sure that put a big damper on their Christmas holidays.
Wonderful that Alice is already breathing on her own; pray everything else
will progress just as well.

Alice is doing well.  She is back up to her birth weight of 2 pounds,
12 ounces.  She will be able to go home when she meets the following
criteria: 1.) Weigh 5 pounds; 2.) be able to suckle; 3.) be able to
breathe on her own (apparently, even though she has been breathing on
her own since birth, preemies occasionally "forget" to breathe & the
nurses in the PICU have to help her get restarted).

Please keep the prayers for Martha, Rich & Alice coming.
