Can Outlook Express be re-installed? How?
Would "addresses" and saved messages be lost?
... It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it.

It can, Chief, but I don't have any idea how. A friend did mine and even if
she had explained it, I wouldn't have remembered. The technician had put
another server on my computer and I didn't like it. It took my friend a
good while, but she finally did it!

You can copy your saved messages to another directory/folder simply by
drag n drop, give it a go.
You can also export your address book, just file then down to export
and save as a txt file, then when you have both messages and addresses
safe you can uninstall and reinstall OE

Without having read Pauls' links, you can install from the original windows
disk. It will find an existing operating system and ask you if you want to
replace or repair the existing. You would want to repair. then go to the
updates sight and download any needed patches. If you have a virus, this
will not correct that problem.
