I could use an assistant

Hi all,

I could use an assistant with the card list if anyone would like to do it.

Basically I need help with someone prompting me about people that need cards
because they had surgery or not doing good. Also I need someone to prompt me
to send out the cards on time. I am getting so forgetful lately.

Anyone up for the job. See not much work, just need to prompt me. Thanks.

LOL - then you certainly don't want me. Bob and I have a running joke ... if
I develop Alzheimers, how will he know? I have become so forgetful that when
I head out to the mailbox to mail some letters, he'll ask me if I put stamps
on them. (Didn't twice now.) He worries about me driving, but I told him I
have no problems remember which is brake and which is accelerator. LOL

But DeeTee, you might think about getting one of those chips put in so that
when you get lost, Bob will be able to find you...Gee sometimes I think I
can get lost driving in a parking lot...

Yes, DeeTee, but can you find your way to where you are going?

LOL - only if I have a map...or if I have been there before. That part is
still functioning. Actually it's the little things I forget...put a stamp on
the card, turn the oven on to heat before you need it hot, mail the cards
you put in the car to mail, things like that. Most of the big things I still
remember and better than he does. But I was always so sharp at all memory
before that it seems a little more prominent now. At least I have those day
box thingys to know if I took the meds for the morning or evening or not.
THAT could get really scary and IS one of the things I have trouble
remembering. The box helps me. If it's empty I took them. I fill it every
Saturday without fail so that's my starting point each week.

I remember a fellow worker that I bought some Christmas cards from.   She
told me that she put them in front of the door so she wouldn't forget them.
She said she stepped over them two days in a row and then finally remembered
to take them the third day.  LOL  So event the best helps go astray.  LOL

DeeTee, I do two weeks at the time.  If I didn't I would never know if I
took my medicine or not.  I just blame mine on getting old!

that is so funny Cindy, I just got an antib for a bladder infection. When
you shake the capsules it sounds like there is metal in there. I told Jim
they are probably putting tracking devices in these capsules to keep track
of us. So when you told DeeTee what you did I had to laugh because that
would work. LOL ;-)

DeeTee, don't feel bad, at times I forget to write or sign the cards, I have
forgotten stamps on things, I forgot to sign my checks and they still passed
them threw. ;-)

I would forget my name if  Jim wasn't with me to remind me who I am. ;-)

When they ask me at the drs how old I am I have to look at Jim for him to
tell them, I have no clue how old I am, I can never remember it.  Also when
they ask for the phone number. Dah, I don't call myself so why  would I
remember my own phone number. ;-)

I am glad that we can all laugh about this..I have had a few PANIC moments
when for an instant, I didn't know where I was in my own neighborhood. Ah
the Fibro Fog or whatever you want to call it...
And the time I left work and drove with a  letter in my hand so that I would
not drive past the Post Office and forget to mail it...I had to turn around
and go back anyways...LOL

I have had a few times when I take a letter out to the mailbox when I get
the newspaper in the morning.  I put the letter in, put up the flag, and go
back in the house without the newspaper!  I call it a Senior Moment.

Hey, doing that only counts if someone sees you make two trips to get the
paper.

Jo

At the time in the morning when I go out to get the paper (being an early
riser), the only ones up are my neighbor and a few birds!  Neither one of
which is awake enough to count the number of trips I make.  So, I guess the
second one doesn't count?  LOL

Actually, my mom goes out and gets the paper during the warm months and
walks up and down the street, counting her progress by the number of
mailboxes and/or driveways she goes past!  Then in the afternoon, I go out
and get the mail when it comes (using afternoon loosely, it has arrived
anywhere between 1 and 6 PM!).  Then in the winter we switch.  I nip out and
get the paper and she goes for her walk and gets the mail.  Her walker has a
seat on it and a removeable basket.  By the way, she is 90 years old.

Went to quilt guild today and then with friends from the guild for lunch.
It was the annual garage sale and because one of the friends was having a
birthday we gave her a large bag of scraps that we had bought at the sale.

So she is opening them and I am going.... I have that fabric, that was in
the baby quilt I made, that was in the wallhanging, love that material -
bought a yard of it for $6.00 a yard at Sewer's Dream 2 years ago etc.

My best friend then turned to me and said "how come you can't remember your
new phone number or your cell number that you have had for 2 years but you
can remember every piece of fabric in your stash - amazing."

guess I don't have alzheimer's after all.

As to how old I am Jo - well I would have to look at Jim too!
