i've been taking neurontin at night for about 6 months now. i tiake
1800 mg. i love how it makes me drowsy and helps me sleep. but i've
been having long term "loose stools,' i figured it was my diet, so i
did a radical cutting out of everything delicious--coffee, chocolate,
etc. nothing seems to make a difference, which mkaes me wonder if it
could possibly be the neurontin. i remember having diarrhea when i
frist started it. has anyone had ongoing bowwl issues with neurontin?

In reading the drug trial studies your problem is listed as infrequent/rare,
but not impossible.

From the FDA's site:

PRECAUTIONS
Information for Patients
Patients should be instructed to take Neurontin® only as prescribed.
Patients should be advised that Neurontin® may cause dizziness, somnolence
and other symptoms and signs of CNS depression. Accordingly, they should
be advised neither to drive a car nor to operate other complex machinery
until
they have gained sufficient experience on Neurontin® to gauge whether or
not it affects their mental and/or motor performance adversely.

Side effect in clinical trials:
Digestive System
   Diarrhea                         5.7
   Dry mouth                     4.8
   Constipation                 3.9
   Nausea                           3.9
Nervous System
   Dizziness                      28.0
   Somnolence                 21.4
  Ataxia                               3.3
  Thinking abnormal         2.7

Perhaps you fall within that 5.7% who have diarrhea.

... If you wake up Sleepy and Grumpy, then you must be Snow White.
