I have PA and my meds are working fine. TG
My sister is in bad pain.
She waited about a year before seeing a doctor .. she was in denial
She took the nsaids, then mtx, then mtx and enbrel, ,worked for a few
months now on humera (not sure of spelling) for a few months and it is
not really working.
Doc sent her to find out about the new intravinus drugs. Went to the
rumy that does this and was told it is not approved for PA yet and he
did not want to fight for it as she was not that bad that day.
I asked her and she said today her hands were not too bad but her feet
hurt. Denial denial.
Anyway, when this began we were told options were endless. Seems that
is not so. Anyone have insight on what she could do or expect in
future...

Hi Ralph,
I believe that Remicade is approved for Ankylosing Spondylitis which
is one of the spondyloarthropathies, as is PA.
Remicade is done by IV infusion, is that the drug you are referring
to? As far as other drugs go...maybe Orencia or Rituxan, but as far as
I know those are being used in extreme RA cases...I don't know of many
or any Spondys using these as of yet.
I have AS and I know what she is talking about regarding her feet. I
am on Enbrel, mtx, Nsaids and a muscle relaxer for fibro and I STILL
have the pain in my feet...it can be awful at times.
I hope she can find something,
Char

Yes, for about 2 years I was on Remicade for AS before switching to Embrel.
The only problem I had with Remicade was severe itching -- only during the
infusion.

Hi all! <waving>
I am doing ok, thanks for asking!
We are changing seasons here and my body isn't liking it very much.
Squirrely, you guys had an earthquake out there? Did it affect you,
and how are you feeling?
Chief, Harv and Navy...I hope all of you are well,

The earthquake in San Jose occurred a week after we left the region. We
haven't heard from the 2 hostess we stayed with, but Mary's sister in San
Rafael 18 miles north across the bay in Marin County sure felt it.
We left Santa Cruz Sunday morning after hearing about the fires in Los
Angeles and Orange Counties. After we left Santa Maria Monday morning, we
began to hear about the fires down here.
Arrived home and discovered that there were 5 LARGE ones burning in the
county and portions of North and East county were being evacuated. That
evening we watch the Harris blaze approaching 5 or 6 UHF TV
transmitters/antennas less than 2 miles from our home.
There is one dirt road into and out from that mountain top, but they got
firefighters up there and we didn't lose a single TV station.
We are doing well, back to square dancing (slow, with the classes) 3 months
after my rip surgery.
After warnings about another hot weekend with RED FLAG warning approaching,
the weather decided it was winter. <g> Have to sleep with a blanket the
past 5 nights.
