Am wondering if any of you are familiar with the new product out on the
market called natures tears eye mist?  It is for dry eyes.   Am just
wondering if the mist would be any better than just regular eye drops,
as half of the eye drops end up running out of your eye anyways.

Anyone familiar with this product yet or anyone tried it yet?

This sounds like something Charlie and I were using last winter.  A mist you
basically spray into your face that helps with dry eyes.  I kept it by the
computer as that was where I needed it most.

I remember I liked it.  Don't remember where it went to or why I didn't
replace it.  But probably like most things of that sort.  The kids tend to
play with stuff around the computer and carry it off.

been out since '02 - orig. dev for contact lens wearers.
not intended to be a 'replacement' for other products, but a purported
'helper'
just ph balanced sterile water, with a couple minerals

the 'review of optometry online' had this to say back in '04:

http://www.revophth.com/index.asp?page=1_365.htm

" Nature's Tears

In mid-2002, a small company based in Oregon launched a unique product
that has captured the interest of many exhibit hall attendees. Nature's
Tears (Bio-Logic Aqua Technologies) is described by the manufacturer as
an all natural moisturizing mist for the eyes consisting simply of
tissue culture grade water with no preservatives or propellants. Rather
than being instilled as a drop, Nature's Tears is sprayed toward the
eyes from a distance of 12 to 18 inches. The premise? Artificial tears
flood the ocular surface, washing away the lipid and mucin layers and
depleting normal enzymes, claims the manufacturer. However, Nature's
Tears mist allows for replenishing of the aqueous component without
disturbing the other tear layers. This is an intriguing theory, and the
product possesses a significant novelty factor. However, there is a lack
of significant prospective studies demonstrating that this product is
any more effective than other artificial tear supplements. "

and now in '07, there still aren't any studies to show anything
different.

First thought about this is - why not use normal saline in a scent
spray ? It would cost virtually nil and might work. If it doesn't then
Nature's Tears might just have an extra component which helps and you
could always give that a go.

I haven't heard about this, but my mother is using something call Soothe XP,
which is thicker than most eye drops and doesn't ooze out like so many of
them do.  She likes the feeling and I like the ease of putting them in her
eyes.
