Well, I'm home! Has been a long day, but at least I have the first of
the two infusions under my belt now!
My RD decided this time to not do the IV benedryl since I had reactions
to it both infusions the last time. He upped my dose of steroids and
changed the type of steroid to a quicker acting steroid. Also wrote for
additional doses of steroids if needed for any problems during the
infusions.
They drew blood first and then hooked me up to the IV and ran a small
bag of saline through before starting the actual treatment regime. Can
I just tell you that I LOVE having this port!!! Wow, even though it is
still quite swollen and tender since I just got it put in last week, it
was one simple stick and they drew the blood from it, flushed it, then
hooked me up the the IV. How incredible---only one stick!!! It usually
always takes them at least several tries to get an IV going. Truly
amazing!!! I wanted to kiss that nurse right then and there I was so
happy!!!
Anyways, had a few minor blips/reactions stuff and but otherwise am
fine. Extremely exhausted, so am heading to bed shortly. I know the
next few days will be laying low and dealing with the side effects, but
am just happy to have the infusion done and headed for the second one in
2 weeks!!!
Wooooohoooooo!!!
Blessings to you all and hope and pray that you all have a most
enjoyable weekend!!!

How wonderful that the port works so well. Pray the rituxan will work just
as well.

(((Donna)))
I hope that port continues to be a help to you, and that the second infusion
goes well, and you start to feel better real soon.
Hugs,
