I haven't met her yet and can't remember her name (it sounded Spanish), and
don't yet have an appointment, but I have a doctor.  My cardiologist called
her during my appointment yesterday and she is now to call me.  He said he
knew someone he would like for me to see but didn't know if she was
accepting patients, but that maybe he could get her to take me even if she
wasn't.  She answered the phone when he called and said he needed an
apointment for a patient.  She evidently asked with whom, and he said "with
you".
It worked.  He said if I don't hear from her in 2 or 3 days, to call him.
So now I'm just waiting.
One of the ladies in the office spoke to me as I was coming out, and asked
who the appointment was with.  He told her and she said, "Oh, you'll love
her.  She's my doctor."  I take that as a good recommendation!

Dr. Carmelita DeJesus's office called and since I have no urgent needs, my
appointment is on November 6.  And her office is just across the highway
from Baptist East Hospital where Dr. Chan's office is, and where I go to
have Protime checked.
If I'm as pleased with her as I am with the Pulmonologist he has me going
to, I will just be very, very thankful.  God is good!

i'm sorry you have to wait so long for the appt, Gwen, but it does
sound like you've found a keeper. How terrific of your cardiologist to
intervene on your behalf! very rare.

My cardiologist is a very rare person, Diane.  You can really talk to him,
and he listens...even when you're complainig about somebody in his office.
I wasn't the only one upset with her, and she was soon gone.  But he is a
remarkable man and I count myself blessed to be going to him.  I was going
to another one in the same group. but when my son had an emergency heart
problem, Dr. Chan was the one he saw. And he liked him so much that when I
got upset with mine, I changed.  My BP had been very high and I was really
worried about it.  When I saw my original cardiologist, he said come back in
a year!  That just blew my mind, and I changed to Dr. Chan.  He has never
blown off anything I was concerned about, and I really, really like him!

There's nothing like a recommendation from a good doctor for another doctor!
May she live up to her advance billing!
