My 88 year old mother has decided she just couldn't stand not seeing
her great grandchild and ifs flying out here tomorrow for a week. Just
boggles the mind. lol So have my fingers crossed that she will not
wear herself out and will be strong enough to withstand the 5+ hour
flights. That little boy is calling to her. He is way way cute so I
can understand.
Duckie
how cool that she will be able to see her great-grandson!!! she must be
really excited about him to take on a 5+ hour flight just to get to him.
the power of grandma love will get her through it, duckie. and just seeing
and holding that sweet little guy will probably make her forget all about
the trip and make her feel better. babies have a magical healing thing they
do to grandmas--you know what i mean<smile>. and you're right, he is
waaaaay cute. i'd love to see a current picture of him. they change so
much from day to day at this age.

I didn't get this until today (10th) so I just hope the great grandma got
there safely and not too tired.
Am sure she has loved that little boy by now and feels it was worth it just
to see him!

Duckie, I want to know how you feel the first time you put that little boy
in your mother's arms.
My mother loved her grandchildren and was able to spend quite a bit of time,
good time with them all.
But presenting her with our grandchildren, now that was special.
Jo
She is packing her suitcase as I type. We have had a wonderful visit
with Jen bringing Noah down nearly every day for a visit. Today, the
kids long ago had asked if we would baby sit while they went to a
RedSox party and we continued along with that.
Took only one day for Noah to give her his beaming smile. That was
Monday the day after she arrived. I think it made the trip totally
worthwhile. She melted -- just like I did. Took her only one day to
figure out how to hold him so he would be happy.
The trip did not wear her out but she is tired now and I expect will
sleep for a good day once she gets home. We have plenty of pictures of
all the generations which is great. We have to get up at the crack of
dawn tomorrow to get ready for the airport so I am heading off to bed.
Just wanted you all to know how wonderfully well her visit went.

I'm so glad she had this visit and that you had this visit. May there be
more.
I still remember so clearly when we took Ryan who was just turning four back
to Florida to visit my mom. Her mind wasn't so clear anymore. But she had
always loved kids, even admiring other folks children when we would go out
to eat, etc.
She was sitting on the sofa when we went in to her apartment and her went
over to sit next to her. She was mentally sorting out who I was and who
Charlie was, that kind of thing. She looked at Ryan with a question in her
eyes. I said this is our Grandson Ryan, he is one of yours. She just
beamed and hugged him. He stuck to her like glue the whole time we were
there and still remembers her and the visit.

well, I'm not even reading this until the trip is over, but what a blessing
for everyone to have this visit! How can you beat the charms of a brand-new
great-grandson?
