How is your sister doing?  What is the latest with her recovery/rehab?
Is she at home?  In nursing facility?  Where???   How is she doing
emotionally with all of this stuff?  Poor thing has just been through so
much lately!!!

Thinking of her and of you.  I know it is hard being so far away, but
you are still a blessing to her, just being there to listen and talk
things through with!!!

Hugs,

Donna

donna, you are amazing! how can you even remember my sister with all
you've been going through?

i haven't written about her recently because i feel as though i've
taken up so much group time with her issues, but she can use your
continued prayers. she is at home with a 24 hour aide who can lift her
and is a real god-send, but her life is very very hard and she at
times talks about wanting to "chuck it all." she had a first session
with a new therapist today, having found one who'd come to the house,
but it was not a good match. she's decided she will find a way to get
to her old therapist's office, since she really liked him. a physical
therapist comes to the house twice a week. on september 10th, she'll
be able to weight bear on her broken hip and can then start more
serious PT. she plans to do it as an outpatient. she refuses to be an
inpatient again and i can't blame her.

the scary thing is, she now has a bladder infection thanks to weeks
with a foley. she woke up yesterday and again this morning with her
bag full of blood. she'd been on low dose coumadin since her surgery,
so her doc is taking her off that and of course she's on cipro. she's
no longer tough as nails, but at least she's still tough as thumb
tacks, so please keep her in your prayers.

thanks for asking donna. you're something else!

Heck, I think thumb tacks are what some physical therapists need, so maybe
she'll be just fine.  I'm glad she still has some fight left, and hope that
will allow her the progress that she needs to lift her mood.

Dang, Diane, your poor sister has had enough already!!!

Surely hope the UTI clears quickly and that once she is weight bearing
that she can rehab a bit easier and get at least back to what is normal
for her!!!   I know she must be so anxious to get back to her acting
group.

Prayers continue for her and please, Diane, don't ever feel like you
have talked too much about her in the group.   We kind of become like
family here and your sister is important to us, just as you and John
are!!!   Also, this impacts you and that is cause for all of us to be
concerned too.

Hugs all the way around!!!

hey.  don't even go there, diane.  your sister's part of our asa family too,
by proxie.  she's still in my thoughts, sweetie.

thank goodness for strong aides.  but dang it, a bladder infection is just
not fair after all she's been through!  i can only imagine how discouraging
and overwhelming it must all feel for her at times.  progress on the 10th
should help her spirits enormously.  we'll take tough as thumb tacks--i
remember some pretty stubborn thumb tacks that seemed glued to the
corkboard.<smile>

thanks for the update, hon.

Diane,

continued prayers are coming that way. I won't stop till you tell us too.
;-)

Hang in there, I know this is tough on you too.

I for one want updates on how your sister is doing. I then know better how
to pray for her.
