When I got the letter confirming I was on the waiting list for a TKR
they asked me to phone the hospital and tell them if there were any
dates when I wasn't available. So I told them that I'm on holiday from
Friday (24th) to 9th September, inclusive.

Yesterday I received the summons to my pre-op check for (guess) Tuesday
28th August!

So I phoned up and explained. The lass on the other end of the phone
sighed and said "Sorry, they didn't pass that on".

I wonder if I ought to mail them two copies in future, one labelled
"Left hand" and one labelled "Right hand"!

And, yes, they'll postpone my check until after I get home. I just hope
they don't send me the appointment details while I'm away!

Cheers for now,

Dave

But Dave, they probably thought you wanted the surgery done
during your vacation so you wouldn't lose any work time or play
time or whatever. :-)

<chuckle> and sad shake of the head

Don't you just love bureaucracy?  and whatever made you think that they
actually WANT you to take off and enjoy your holiday?  heehee
