Thanks goodness they caught it and treated it so fast Ann. The group does
come up with some good suggestions thanks to experience.
Glad they followed up.

Isn't that the truth, Kelly? We have such a diverse group of people and
every one of them so willing to help the rest of us. It really is
"family".

It really is Ann. It isn't that we are giving advice like a doctor but so
many have "been there, done that" and are aware of symptoms. Also everyone
cares - really cares (well except some of the troublemaker spammers we have
had lately and the ****man who occasionally pipes in.) Sometimes that
caring really makes it.
It is great Ann - I consider so many here part of my extended "family".
Stay well now,
Kelly

Oh good -- glad I could be of help. I have iritis -- had it in both
eyes but it is now chronically in my right. The vit. detachment was in
my 'good' left eye so I was really scared. Always good to know that
although not great -- certainly not in the same catagory as a torn
retina.
Good advice about the eye -- anything that is not normal should be
looked at by someone who knows what they are looking for and that does
not include a regular GP. You need not only an eye doctor but a GOOD
opthamologist. That man can send you along to a retina specialist if
needed. Frankly, an opthamologist should always be willing to send you
along if they don't know what is wrong. In the Boston area, I had an
opthamologist; an immunilogical opthamologist; and a retina
specialist. Anyone having fun yet. lol

yeah, but that's the advantage of living in a metro area! I suspect I'd be
driving down to Ann Arbor for most of those folks. Around here, you can get
macular degeneration and glaucoma treated on the other side of the state, but
anything more "exotic" and you'd want to get down to the Detroit/Ann Arbor
area. I'm surprised by the number of folks around here in their late 70s and
80s who still drive 150 miles+ round tripp to see docs several times a year.
I guess I've been spoiled by a lifetime of specialists within a 10 mile
radius.
