This is totally uncalled for. Its bad enough I'm creaking and aching like
an old worn out mule. But now I'm literally falling apart.
I broke off a piece of one of my front teeth in my sleep last night. The
broken bit was still in my mouth when I woke up.
I know I should be grateful it doesn't hurt. But some mornings these look
on the bright side and take pleasure in the small stuff ideals don't cut it.
Even being able to tell my dentist "I told you so" is small satisfaction.
I just hope I can get in soon to get the sharp edge smoothed off.

Then be grateful you didn't aspirate it and end up with a pneumonic process
requiring surgery to remove it. But go ahead and cuss if it makes you feel
better. I do. ;-)

It's called for. There are times when life just bites and the best thing to
do is let it out. As my doctor reminds me, " Flesh and blood, flesh and
blood. That's all we are.

Hey, maybe we can have a "falling apart party". We could toss all our
fallen parts in a circle and, blindfolded, take turns picking out body parts
;-) No? Oh well, just a thought! Nanny

Jo, Sorry it happened. Have you had the sharp edge filed down, yet?
Do you have a bite splint? It keeps the teeth from grinding together at
night. Relieves a lot of the pain and protects teeth (or it you are like me,
expensive caps and bridges).
I did crack a tooth once, even while wearing the splint. I was trying an
anti-depressant that contains serotonin. It was causing me to clench my jaw
so tightly that I cracked a polycarbonate splint and a tooth that had just
had a root canal done. Cost $200 for a new splint and made moot the $650
root canal job. Am supposed to have had the tooth pulled and an implant put
it, but haven't had the $. Have been running around with temporary cap for
almost 4 years now.

Jo, First I am so sorry about the Tooth...And yes ...Some times...Looking on
the Bright side...When the Dark side is so much darker...just doesn't cut
it...
Now for the humorous side of this..not that there is one...But when I read
the title of this...it reminded me of a movie...And I can't remember the
name of it...Darn it...It had a Vampire and his Ghoul... was a black
man...and his body parts kept falling off...Wasn't it a Eddie Murphy
Movie????
I hope you get the tooth "Fixed" soon...
Hugs Cindy

I got in to the dentist yesterday. It helps that I've known everyone in
that office for nearly thirty years.
I just wanted to get the sharp edge smoothed off. But they went ahead and
smoothed off that one and the two next to it that had tiny chips. Then
bonded stuff over the tops to make them look nice and even. But a tiny bit
shorter so they don't hit against the top teeth like they did.
It was as easy as getting my acrylic fingernails done. Looks good if I say
so myself and feels good too. She did warn we they won't be as strong as
they were, but since they were chipping before, I'd guess they won't be much
worse.
Sept fourth I have an appointment with an orthodontist to make a mouth guard
for at night. All my bottom teeth are too crowded and are wanting to move
and twist out of line.
Thank you all. Its just depressing to start the day by loosing body parts.
