No coumarin/wararin

I forgot in earlier posts that this time around I was not given
coumarin/wararin anticoagulant.  No nurse coming out 3 times a week for
blood tests to adjust the dosage.

I received Lovenox for subcutaneous injection.  It comes in a prefilled,
spring-loaded syringe -- easiest injection I've ever received.   I'll get
the last one today (Monday).

Now that I've experienced it, I'm hoping I can obtain Embrel in the same
format.

The doctor didn't thing I needed OT, but ordered PT.  The 1st visit was
Thursday - kinda intro meeting.  Then I'll see her twice a week begining
tomorrow (Tuesday).

... Going where no clusters have gone before.

Chief -- did you just have surgery? So out of the loop I am....
I didn't have coumadin after my knee surgery this time either. Had
some good injectible in the hospital and then was prescribe something
to come home with. Hospital injectable was easy easy easy. Home
version frankly sucked - pardon the French. I could not push in the
plunger by myself. I could get it in my body and then John had to push
the plunger because the thing didn't fit well and jiggled around and
refused to go down causing bruising at each spot due to all that
wiggling. Plus an added side effect of the stuff was that after about
15 - 30 seconds it began to burn. The burning continued for several
minutes. I tried several different things that I remembered the
Kineret folks used including icing the site before which helped. Glad
that stuff was over in about 10 days. Asked my doctor why I couldn't
have had the same stuff the hospital used. Turns out the better one
costs more. Next time I will know to ask for the good stuff.

I had THR(R), so now I have a twin for the 7-year-old left hip replacement.

My surgeon prescribed the same drug that was used in the hospital. It was a
10-day supply of pre-loaded syringes.  Mary has been injecting my Embrel for
months and months with no problem, so this was a piece of cake for her.
Another nice thing about this brand is the needle shield that pops up after
the injection, so you don't have a "sharps" disposal problem.

... But I   !!WANT!!   the 2 in the bush.

Well, I just looked it up and I have a note in my palm that says
developed a real hatred for Lovenox. So You don't have any burning
from the thing. Mary's hands must be really good as that thing is
awful. Wish I had also written down just what it was they gave me in
the hospital cause the diff was night and day between the two. If you
think Lovenox is easy you should have used the one I had in the
hospital. It was like butter compared to this.
So how is rehab going?

Second session with PT this morning.   Down the stairs, walked to the pool,
turned around and walked back.
Then 6 new "standing" leg exercises that were quite different from the first
set done flat on my back.

About half an hour after PT left, my body discovered muscles that it didn't
know existed.  <g>
