Hi guys!! Just a note to let you all know that we have finally moved.
Now the only problem is all the boxes. I am too old for all of this.
Squirrely -- we got your card and it is packed somewhere as it came to
this house and we carried it to the old one while all the workman had
the run of the new place. All new wiring; some new hardwood and all
hardwood refinished; new higher toilet in the master bath; new faucet
in there as well - one with a single lever instead of those huge balls
knobs that I can't hold on to; and lots of little things I found a
handyman to do. Have more -- but we only paid for one days worth.
Only thing I have found so far that I am not fond of is that our next
door neighbor seems to go outside to smoke and it wafts into the
windows on that side. It is kicked up my asthma a smidge when I forget
and leave open that side of the house. He works all day and goes to
bed early so I just need to remember to shut them in late afternoon.
By 8pm it is no longer a problem.
My grandson is just beautiful and has finally made it to 8 lbs having
started his life 3 weeks early. He is having gas issues due to nursing
problems which means he is not sleeping well and that means neither
are his mommy and daddy. Was there last week babysitting and found he
fell sound asleep on my shoulder for nearly 2 hours. I didn't mind but
that is not what a new mommy wants to spend her day doing. Hard to get
your own nap when you are holding a baby upright. I didn't mind
indeed. lol
Have finally found a part time job that really fits me -- working at a
needlepoint store to fill in for those on vacation. I worked 4 days
last month. Perfect. Also have agreed to teach online soon on a new
sewing university somewhere in the near future and also to write for
an internet magazine [different person running them both]. My first
article is due in about 2 weeks. I must be crazy.
Hugs and prayers to those who need them.

How nice to have your name show up posting on the NG. We have really missed
you very much. Now don't take so many part time jobs that you still won't
have time to be around. That baby sitting can get to be a habit also;
grandbabies are just so adorably sweet! Sounds like you almost have a new
house in some parts of it. Hope you will really enjoy being there, even
having to close one side of the house for a few hours each evening. Don't
try to open all those boxes in too short a time. They will be waiting for
you when you feel like doing them.
By the way, how is the knee? Hope it has healed well and you're still
dancincg (when you have time). I remember those baby gas issues well. I
still remember keeping the paragoric bottle handy for those nights of colic.
Take care and hurry back!!!

Hi Duckie,
It was great to hear from you again. It sounds as though
congratulations are in order on many fronts, First, congrats on the
grandbaby. I am sure that you enjoy being a grandma. How awesome that
you can be so close to your daughter and family. Secondly,
congratulations on the move. How are the furbabies handling their new
home? I wish you many happy years in your new home. Finally,
congratulatons on your new jobs. It sounds as though you are doing
very well. It is great to hear that you have found some jobs, and I am
sure you will enjoy each of them.

I really can just see you with that baby on your shoulder. Hope he at least
didn't insist that you walk the whole time.
Poor little guy. I really think when they have stuff like gas pain, it
makes them fear lying down and going to sleep. I'll bet that 2 hours did
him a world of good.

Hey Duckie glad to see you posting. Good to hear about your jobs too, Just
hope you are not doing too much. Glad you got moved, take your time
unpacking as it will be there when you can get to it. The new things sound
good. I knew you would be spoiling that little child. ;-)

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope Mary and I will be able to visit you and John this October. While up
that way last year, we preregistered for this year's festival. And now that
Mary is retired, we don't have a deadline to return home.
Mary talked with her former client yesterday. She (the client) has been
through 17 caregivers since Mary's last day at work, June 1. <g>

Good to see some very familiar names - Jo and Rose and Harv. Gwen -- I
think I have been clicking on your email as spam - just didn't know
who that was. Send me another 'test' and I will try and undo the mess
I have done to you. lol
DeeTee I can't find your email -- um use the duckie412@gmail.com
account and I will forward it along to myself and answer you from my
real one. Carole -- use the old email addy which you have and not the
gmail. Chief -- let me know when you and Mary are headed this way.
Awful to hear about her client and the parade of caregivers.
Squirrely -- got your BD card today. Thanks. Diane -- I am trying to
limit myself on the boxes. The good news?? is that I can't use my
right hand to lift any of them so that slows me down. Have to rely on
John to carry things to where I am unpacking them.
Remicade is Monday. Having stupid issues with the Arava and the old
type side effects. Think the stress of the move is adding to the
problem. Good news is that I am down to 6mg of pred and only upped to
10mg on the one day of the move. Took me two months to go from 7 to 6
so I am really proud of that. RD has lowered my mg dose of the Feldene
I have been taking since I was 35. Gone from 20mg to 10mg of that and
have not really noticed the difference. Except for my eye the RA seems
quiet. Eye doctor and I tried to lower the once a day predforte drop
in that eye to an every other day and the eye did not like it. Oh
well, I guess now the twice daily pressure eye drop which had to be
added when the eye pressure began to rise due to the predforte is now
a permanent feature. But I can see!! :)
Slow like a turtle -- that is me and all those boxes. Doing just 4 a
day by myself -- more if John helps. Though he is still putting up
towel bars and hangers and things like that. And of course he is
working.

I don't think you were reading the group much when Noah was announced. I
just love the name. It was a favorite in my father's family for
generations. All the oldest sons were named Noah. Would have been
confusing but those were the days when it was nothing unusual to have ten
kids.
