NUDE MODELS

AaronGroban@gmail.com - 20 Jun 2007 09:23 GMT Models for life drawing classes are often entirely nude, apart from inconspicuous personal items such as small jewelry. In a job advertisement seeking nude models, this may sometimes be referred to as being "undraped". In Western countries, there is generally no prohibition on the sexes posing nude for or drawing members of the opposite gender, although this was not always the case in the past.

> Or moral values mean nothing with > it is hunger in the stomach, or is it all about money? If I still had the body (without the skin scarring) and the face (without the cyclosporine puffiness) I'd gladly earn money posing for the camera. For me that would not be a fulfilling life-long career, but for some it is as long as it lasts, so good for them.

how is it that you sound like you believe being an artist's model is something new? what do you think were the models for all the great painters and sculptors, going back thousands of years, tinker toys?
there is nothing ignoble about being an artist's model. would you also deem the bequests of people's nude cadavers for use in medical schools immoral? would you also believe those kinds of bequests are also about monitary gain for those people who are dead? how very narrow-minded and short-sighted of you.
being a model or a cadaver is about contributing to the advancement of art or science. it is about believing in the talent and skills of people involved in art or science and being willing to assist them and their efforts.
i have two friends who are cousins. their mother/aunt was a very affluent and successful writer and publisher. during the 1920-30s, she didn't need money. she became a model for a host of painters and scupltors, because she knew the artists, whose talents she believed in, were too poor and unknown to pay for models. these artists knew she wouldn't accept money for her help. so, they gave her token gifts of their drawings and paintings in gratitude for her help. upon her death, her collection of their "token gifts", which were just keepsakes to her, were appraised at over 40 million dollars. she was right to believe in those artists; they were talented and ultimately, world class talents. their talents might never have been developed and shared with the world, let alone now exist in the world's most prestigious art museums, were it not for her generosity of spirit.
you need to re-evaluate what you believe is immoral and get your mind and heart out of the gutter where it festers.

i do understand, adelle. thank you.
unfortunately, trolls and spammers sometimes cause other people, who don't think things through, to join them on their idiotic bandwagons, believing there is or must be something valid in the ignorant poison these mindless morons spue. sometimes, ignorance must be challenged and exposed for what it is, to at least stem the growing tide of ignorance, a little.
the arts has been taking a lot of devaluing hits lately, in all kinds of political/religious/educational venues. they need much more support than they've been getting of late. the junior high and high schools in my area have been dropping music and art from their curriculums, with disdain for their value. if this kind of trend continues and grows, all that we will be left with, as a nation, is popular mediocrity and a paucity of excellence in these areas of human endeavor. i am concerned about that.

The only reason we're not donating my body when my time comes is that there's a possibility it'll be dissected at the university where my wife works!
Being a model for painting or sculpture or other artistic endeavour? If she wants to, good for her!
As for myself, like I said to you before: if I could, I would! :)

yours is not an honest question, considering that my answer to it was already evident in what i had written.
however, try thinking about this: what you revealed, about yourself and where your mind lingered, when you typed that question.
